hey watsup guys, im new here. im really lookin forward to gettin a srt4, but i got some questions. and i know ya'll have answers lol. ok for sure im not gonna get an 03, more hp is such an appealing thing lol but between an 04 and 05, wats the diff? ive heard the 05 has tranny probs? has anyone had this happen to them? im gonna be lookin for a stock one with around 30-40k miles. any tips on wat to look for when im at the dealership? i've had a boosted integra befor, so im fairly familiar wit boost, and i love the srt4. it looks savage, and love how it sounds. only problem is, its a neon...:-( but that wont stop me lol so help me out? btw anyone in the fort lauderdale/miami area? help me out ppl! thanks!

 

04/05's don't really have more power than 03's. they do however have an lsd, which depending on who you ask helps or is just a nice feautre. there is no difference between a 04 and 05. ok well 05's don't have a battery temp sensor if you want to get technical.

 

If you buy an '05 you can get it in Orange!!!! (That's an "orange/Florida" joke)

hmm so the 05 doesnt have tranny problems? if thats the case i'll go with an 05. i also wanted to kno wat kinda warranty dodge has on them?is it 7/70k?

 

It was when I got mine (04), but they made it shorter afterwards......

hmm ok. sounds like some dousche baggery. any idea on wat the warrany is by any chance? as far as '05 tranny issues.. any one kno anything about that? so if there is no problem with the tranny, i should be alright with an 05? either way im gettin one, i just wnna be sure i make hte rite decision. my main concern is reliability. thaanks for helpin

 

05s have the 3/36 warranty. Tranny problems haven't been a major issue, just change the tranny fluid with the additive at around 12,000 miles or so. If the previous owner did that, you're in luck.

ok cool. so as long as the fluids are changed , the 05 should be ok? anything else i should know? i know about the OCC thing and how the skittles eat up spark plugs/wirs. umm thanks for ur help peoples. i really look forward to my first dsm srt!

 

You will need an OCC if the car doesn't have one. There is a "sticky" at the top of this section with more info. My factory plugs went 8,000 miles and still looked and performedfine. I only replaced them since I am taking a long roadtrip in a month ortwo. Wires on an 05 are OK, but a set of MSDs will give you a hotter spark and look better as well...........

Hey again ppl. so i should be getting my srt this week, just gotta decide if iwant a black one or white one. um i wanna know if theres anything i should look out for while purchasin it? any problems,defects, etc.? the one im' lookin at has about 28k miles, bone stock, for 16,995$. black wit sunroof. drives fabulously, looks great. any tips? thaanks
