Default SRT-4 crash test rating.....poor???

Hello, my first post. I recently test drove a black 05 and really enjoyed it. I own a 04 WRX and posted on wrx forum how much I liked the car etc.. etc.. and the same thing people kept bringing up was how unsafe and how the SRT wrecks are so much worse than other cars. This has put me off alittle as I was thinking of trading in my WRX for a SRT. oh nice site btw

I'm sorry but SRTs hold up much better than WRX's in any accident. I dont know where you got that rating from. But they're extremely safe.

hopefully the guy that had a wreck in one will reply to this post... You should go back through about 20 or 30 posts on this site and find the one a guy posted after having a wreck and he was ok. It has pics of his car, and anyone that was in it should be dead now, but he was fine...
with those seats not letting you move whatsoever and then your airbag on top of that, how could they be unsafe???

https://dodgeforum.com/m_111754/tm.htm thats his accident

https://dodgeforum.com/m_96529/tm.htm heres mine.

We're both okay. His was OBVIOUSLY worse. But they hold up great, and keep the drivers safe as hell.

I'll be like this for awhile. Drunk Driver rear ended me two years ago, which is why my second crash made things worse. Where it says 30-40 its 130-140. I screwed up typing it.

But the point of the thread is SRTs protect their owners well.

I think dodge does a great job in protecting the passangers, not the vehicle, but you always buy a new, but you can't buy poeple.

Wow glad to hear your okay HEMI TT. And nice choice of a car also That was one helluva crash. Yes Dodge does an excellent job at protecting passengers. Its quite amazing actually. My car wasn't totaled, and I'm happy as hell for that, and I could/should have been dead but I'm not.

I think most of the people that do crash didn't realize how fast the car goes and just couldn't handle the power. When I first had mine I went over the limit and nearly hit a pole. I've never driven anything this fast before and it takes a while to learn the car. It's not a good car for young drivers. Crash tests have great data but the best advice is not to crash. I know that sounds stupid but people wanna race me all the time. It's hard to hold back knowing you can smoke porsches. It doesn't matter how much traffic I refrain from any kind of street racing because I don't know how far that guy is gonna go. I seen a guy curb his WRX in front of me trying to take a 70 deg turn at 50. Messed his car up pretty bad being stupid.
It's a great car and I feel very safe in it. I had a 98 Neon and got into a head-on. He failed to yield and cut out in fron of me. I had no injuries and neither did my son. We both had our seatbelts on. It doesn't matter what car it is. If you get t-boned at 55 your gonna feel it. Just watch the 5 star crash test. The dummy is all over the place. You'd have to be in a tank to not feel that.
