Default High Octane Mode

Hey everyone! Just wonderin', will high octane mode work correctly if I use 92 octane gas plus a high quality octane booster?
92 seems to be the best gas I can find in town and I was really hoping to make use of the extra juice high octane mode delivers. Also, is it bad for one's engine to run in high octane mode all the time?
As far as I know, it just changes your spark timing- or does it?
Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

Octane boosters are crap. Waste of money. You need Race fuel in order to make it work properly. Your wasting your money with 92, and it won't work right at all. Race fuel is at tracks and such. Its very expensive. Often 4 bucks at the least a Gallon.

Thanks for the info!
I don't think I'm wasting money with 92 though since the next fuel down (at least where I'm from) is 89 octane. Race gas is really $4.00 a gallon? Yikes! That's a far cry from 69 cents a litre!

Oh no your not wasting your money with 92 at all. These cars NEED premium. I meant youd be wasting your money on the Turbo Toys setup or attempting to run "high octane mode" with such an octane. Thats not "high" by an stretch of the imagination.

Ok, really quick, because we discussed this not long ago. The BEST octane booster I personally have seen, raises the gas by ten points. Now, ONE octane number is TEN points. Kind of a rip off.....for eight bucks.

For sure. Some of the brands will state that in a 'round about way on their bottles. The numbers (like "104") on the outside of the bottle mean nothing.........I'm surprised the FTC lets them continue to get away with it.....

Here's the stuff that Psichcks talking about. Being used by many Stage 2 owners with great results. And a lot of older turbo dodge guys.

I haven't run it myself, but I live 15 minutes away from MIR

With this one exception, what Paul says is true. 3 points = .3
