Default Desperately Need Winter Wheels & Tires....!

I had to post this because I trust your opinions .....!

CAN YOU HELP ME GET MY BABY TO ITS NEW HOME?

I live about 30 miles from the Canadian border in Minot ND. I will be picking up my new 04 e-Blue SRT-4 in Minneapolis MN this coming Monday 27 Dec. I am unclear about the choices of winter wheels that I can use from the salvage yards. What sizes of & what other manufacturer’s car wheels will fit & work with the SRT-4? What offsets will work, what Diameter & how tall 14”, 15, 16, or just 17”?
I am a little worried about the drive 500 mile trip back, & what kind of weather will be upon us then! I desperately need @ least 2 but would prefer 4, factory aluminum PT Cruiser, or Neon Wheels & tires (Steel if I have to) that will work decent in the snow, ice & such! Or just the wheels & I will buy some all season tires!

I will be driving from here towards Grand Forks on Hy 52 & then to Fargo, & then on down to Minneapolis on I-29. If there is someone along the way that has any they would like to Sale that will fit, give me a holler before I leave on my way down.

Thanks in advance!

You are the people directly responsible for me deciding on the purchase of my new SRT-4 guys! I am so glad I found a place with such helpful people, & great minds with boundless Ideas to make things better!

You Guys Rock ……..!

I think PSIchick said that 15" PT steel wheels will fit, and you could get a 15" snows cheap. That's the route I would take.
Plus, a narrow fifteen will work better in the snow than a 17. Then some ghetto spinner hubcaps.[sm=noooo.gif]

That's what I desperately need to do, minus the hubcaps.

Here is a good deal. The Tire rack. Four Blizzak ws-50's 165/65-15'S, four steel wheels, lug nuts, and chose a wheel cover. $468.00. Can't beat that!!!

i was just going to suggest that ripsiguy. it's a great deal, and the tires are awesome. just about every owner around here that drives their car in the winter uses the blizzaks and they all love them. they really are a great tire for snow. the only thing to remember that is those tires are only q rated, so in dry weather, keep it under a 100!

They need to make a higher speed rated snow tire than that.

Will these fit my SRT? 2000-02 Dodge Neon Wheels and Tires. The wheels are 15x6, aluminum factory don’t know the offset, and guy doesn’t know how to measure it anyway? Something that might look a little better!

Will PT Factory aluminum Rims fit the SRT-4 they are 16" x 6" / 40mm offset. Lug pattern is 5 lug 100mm. Same overall dimentions as the SRT-4 Right?

The PT wheels should fit, I don't beleive that the SXT wheels will, because of the caliper placement in the rear.

Will the smaller rolling diameter of the PT 15's affect the speedometer at all? The package for the PT steelies has a 2 inch smaller wheel, but the tire is only a -1. Any one know for sure? I'd like to be a little more certain before buying the package from tire rack. I need to do something soon, with the snow we have gotten here lately, driving my car around is a bit freaky.
