Default need parts info

hello all, I just bought an srt-4 day before yesterday and a new grand caravan at the same time,so I told the sales man he needed to work a deal with me on parts, they are tinting my windows for free next week and we made a deal for a stage3 with toys installed,I have already paid and the price was 4600 parts and labor, now I am finding out you need the cat back exhaust for it to run well which I didn't get,but I am starting to think the more I look around I am getting screwed on the price and that was with 10% off what do you think?

I think that sounds like alot for Stage 3 myself....for that price he should've included the Mopar Borla CB exhaust and installed it. That sounds awful expensive. That wasn't 10% off if you ask me.

yeah id agree that the price of s3 is high but if u factor in the hourly rate of a dealership for labor its not to bad. and i would have an intake, exhaust, wires at the least in the mail asap.

Hopefully everything works out for you hunn. I mean S3 for MSRP is probably what you got it for, or a bit over. Dealer's tend to inflate things.

MoparSuperCenter.com lists S3 as follows:

Stage 3 w/out Toys: 3,050
Stage 3 w/toys: 3,650

ModernPerformance.com lists S3 as follows:

Stage 3 w/out Toys: 2999.00 + 16.00 shipping
Stage 3 w/Toys: 3599.00 + 16.00 shipping

HowellAutomotive.com lists S3 as Follows:

Mopar Stage 3 Kit with out Turbo Toys $3,195.95
Mopar Stage 3 Kit with Turbo Toys $3,695.95

I won't keep looking, but it appears that your getting charged $1,000 dollars for labor. To me, thats just insane. I'd ask them to at least include the Mopar Borla Exhaust and install it for you for that price. The S3 is gonna need that bigtime or your car's gonna SCREAM and CRY like no other! They're marking it up and trying to take advantage of you, do the best you can to at least get an exhaust and intake on there. Buy some plugs and wires too, NGK and MSD 8.5mm. And an Oil Catch Can while your at it, possibly two if your using the Ghetto ones. Personally I wouldn't have installed this right away on my car until it was broken in. I'd at least wait until 3,000 miles after my first oil change, so I could get my basic parts on, the ones that Gump and I listed. But now that you've got it coming, don't let them screw you over. If they try to, get your money back and order it from elsewhere, theres plenty of people in this country who can install it far cheaper than that.

We have local SRT owners do turbo installs here, they get paid but its not $1,000.

You got took. Never trust a saleman and always know everything your getting into before hand. If they say they're going to give you a deal by adding in stuff for free or cutting the price, then your guaranteed that your getting screwed. They will add everything back into the price and then some somewhere before you sign the papers, that's why they throw the papers under your nose to be signed and wisk them away to sign the next one as fast as possible. Buyers beware.

for the price that the dealer's charge for labor, 1k isn't that far off for a stage 3 installation, especially one with toys. install time has been shown to be anywhere from 8-10 hours, and when you're talking about a dealer that has never done one before, figure on the 10 hours. now i don't know what your dealer charges per hour for labor, but my dealer charges $89 an hour. so $89/hour for 10 hours is $890. so they tacked on an extra $100 and called it a day.
