17's or 18's?
Well, I've decided this is the next car I'm buying, and already predetermined what I was doing to it within the next couple of months: Carbon fiber hood, black rims, tail lights, and the headlight covers. My question though was about rims. I know the car is stock at 17, but is 17 big enough with low profile tires on there??? I already have a set of 17's on a pimped out saturn of mine (cracked a head, and tired of fixing it up right now). I got a nice set of black rims as well, but there universal 4 lug
. What I was going to do since I'm not fixing the satty motor til next year is buy some 17's, and take the low profile tires (new) the saturn, and stick em on there. Just wondering if 17's look right (pics maybe?)

Its all personal preference really. Aloot of guys like the 17s because with coilovers you can run a 17x8" wheel with a 245 series tire and gain more traction. With an 18x8" wheel getting a 235 in there can be tough. Some wheels are only made in 17 or only made in 18 and vice versa. But if you are looking for something "big enough" then go with 18s, thats what I had on my car and will have a new set this year. I like the way they fill up the wheel well and the way they look compared to 17s. It all comes down to personal preference really.
19s eh? isnt that rather large for the car?
im fine with the 17s, but 18s wouldnt look much different other than a little more filled.
but agreed its a personal preference on rim size. i personally dont like the whole 'huge rim' fad. there are a few types of vehicles that they look good on. but i see alot of cars with them and i think they look plain out stupid.

lol i luv the photo shopped car lol. I want 19x8 or 18x8.5 but i cant find a tire place around me that can test fit some wheels to see what i have room for. Does anyone know if i can run either of these??
Never seen an 18x8.5 wheel on an SRT. The offset you would need, the rim would stick out far too much. I've seen a few on 19s though, and they were 19x8. But you have to run rubber bands for tires. Not sure if thats something you are interested in doing. Some wheels theres a huge visual difference between the 17s and the 18s, others not so much.
