Im new here BUT....
I don't know how long I will be staying. My name is Myles and I just bought a 03 with 48k last Thursday and I am ALREADY getting a headache with it. I love the car but so far I went to a dealer and asked about getting the clutch pedal adjusted and come to find out the clutch is going bad and needs to be replaced. Over the weekend it overheated 3 times, the last time it did it started puking coolant from the fill tank, and just now I threw a C.E.L. while I was on my lunch break. Im going to take it to the dealer today and see what's up. Any suggestions besides that? Do these cars naturally run hot? The needle always seemed to be at 220 and then when I would stop at a light it would creep up and start dinging at me. I just have bad luck.....
Yes, they run hot, hence the need for full synthetic oil. If they replace the coolant, make sure it's the orange stuff......

I would check your fluid levels, but it shouldnt run that hot. mine stays around 190 and when i get on it its goes up to maybe 210 or so. It might be a stuck t-stat or something, but i agree on the fluid flush as well, as for your clutch does it seem to be slipping or does the engauge feel funny or something?
The coolant is rated for 5 years.....I've had mine in for 4 1/2 years and have added maybe a quart of additional fluid/distilled water.....no problems in my high mileage (8,850 miles) SRT-4.
I'm gonna miss this car!!!!!![

Yes they naturally run hot. I would just have the coolant system, drained, flushed and re-filled using ONLY Mopar coolant.I change my coolant, PS, Brake fluids yearly along with a flush. It does help, and you notice a difference especially with the brakes.

Last night I changed the tstat to a 180*, checked the coolant level and it was good... I just dropped it off at the dealer and LUCKILY enough the car was overheating the moment I pulled up. So they have it for the night. As for the clutch, it has a problem getting into gear but once its in gear it doesnt slip or grind. I just ordered an ACT stage 1 w/ flywheel so that will be in about a week. Hopefully things work out... Oh, and don't worry about the threadjack, you asked a question that was related to the subject so no worries...
these cars should NOT be running that hot. it's not normal.
good luck with the act clutch. you should use a mopar tob, the after market ones aren't so good. no need for a shift fork though unless it's worn, which you won't know unless you're pulling apart the tranny and there's no reason to do that unless there's a problem.
