Default RE: best intake

I have the Mopar CAI and no complaints with it so far and it seems to be of high quality. I've heard it's made by AEM. I've had no problems with water/snow and it has a splash guard. The install, however, is a pain in the *** and it's very hard to manipulate it's position once you have it partly installed. It fits fine but it's tricky to get it into the correct position. And as LilSparkPlug said, you have to be careful about it grounding out the battery. It has a rubber pad on it for this purpose but it is alreadyattached tothe intake. They should have included it but let you put it on yourself so it would line up better next to the battery terminal. Oh well. For added protection I wrapped mine near the battery with some non-conductive radiator hose tape for now and it's fine. If it creates a short, the battery probably will explode.

There are many options. I would avoid the K&N. I was going to get that one but I've heard nothing but bad things about the clamps and rubber boots breaking. The question is do you want a Cold Air type or a Short Ram? Either one is okay. I'd reccommend the AEM or Mopar and other brands over the K&N, and a short ram is going to be easier and less time consuming to install no doubt.
