Did they ever make that a full 1/4 mile strip? Back in the day when I raced my Kawasaki Z-1 there it was a crappy 1/8 mile strip.....[:'(]
is it your first time at the track? and what about him? if your both new to the track he will have an advantage, our car is super hard to run. cause it doesnt matter how many street races u have been in the track is a different beast to tame, and it hella fun....IMO.
I have never had the chance to race at the track...what makes it so tough compared to the street?

at the trakc, you are more so racing the clock than your opponent... your goal is to leave as soon as the light turns green. a perfect time used to be and still is at some tracks a .5. now they have made a perfect reaction time a 0.0. if you go too early you lose, if you don't go, the clock is already running, so you are losing time... when you are setting at the christmas tree, and the lights start coming down, all you can think is GOOOO... when you leave, I garuntee that you are going to spin, and being a front wheel drive car, it is even harder to control. that rear wheel drive lightning can just roll right off... One key that I found was to only have about 20-22 pounds of pressure in my front tires. do NOT drive around afterwords like that though... once you let the air out, only drive up and down the track or else you will mess up your sidewalls. second recommendation, do NOT take it to redline each time, or anytime. there is no need to take this aar to redline at the track, you will gain speed by shifting about 300ths before redline. also, other than for spooling, you don't need to rev up much before launch. like I said, you will spin, so you only need to leave about half throttle. full throttle leave will just hurt your time unless you have slicks...
I've rambled long enough, you will have to learn it on your own anyway, because once you pull through the water box (which I highly recommend that you drive around the water, these tires don't need ot get wet) you will loose complete train of thought other than GOOOOOOOO!!!

It's also more of a measure of your skill (and your car's performance) if you stay in your particular class. I've never been a fan of bracket racing or "run what you brung"......but, each to their own......
I only had my question answered once. HEHE Everyone else kind of skated around it. Should i race this guy on the srteet (somewhere way far away from you know...cops) or should I try it at the track...he will do either one. I just want to show this dude what our cars can do....he's in a 5000 lb truck.
