I don't know why anyone would want to do that. To each his own, I guess.
The new 2.4 is aluminum block & head while the old one is cast-iron, which I think is less likely to warp over time due to the extreme heat. Plus I don't know if it would line up with the NVG-T-850 tranny that comes in our cars. Also, consider what you would spend just to do the engine swap. Spend that money on mods instead and you will have a pretty sweet SRT-4. Just my $.02.

i have seen complete step by step posted on swapping a 1st gen neon with the 2.4 turbo, srt4 interoir, etc. it looks like ALOT of work. after its said and done you could have madd upgradeda stock SRT4 instead of having a stock srt4 powerplant in a 1gen, granted the 1gen is not as heavy. personally i would love to have a modded 1st gen swap. i just love the 'sleeper' appeal of it. like the puke green 1st gen sedan thats rocking the 2.4t

yea thanks guys i put almost 2 gs into my first gen then i said thats it am just going to get a srt-4 neon.....any ways im wondering when im in second gear and i slam it how do i keep the car stright wat parts would i need to get ....locking diff? air lockers? limited slip? detroit lockers? one way diff?pins?
