Well I Bailed on the '03...the 80k on the clock did indeed give me cold feet and even with the warranty I decided that driving 40 miles each way to work daily I need a lower mileage one.

So I found this ,AND got financed for the couple thousand extra finally,(and I quote) "amazing 2004 Factory Stage 2 with toys in silver with mopar tails with a totally clean visual presentation"27,000 miles and best srt-4 I have ever had on the lot" holy crap - Its the ghost of my old car!!!!!
Made the 100 mile drive to check it out and...I am bummed...the car was run into the ground so hard I was shocked. Beat up traction bars up front and open 3(maybe3+ to the rear no cat no res...)exhaust. ***** of rubber in wheel wells. Neon kit inside with underbody and music pulse system, tt, stuff under the hood I didn't even understand...3 or 4 extra electronic bits wired to the das hup front...extra tank in trunk maybe for washer sprayer, modded to the gills. Started her up and it sounded like a two step. Rap Rap.....Rap Rap....and obscenely loud! Drove it and it couldn't hold more then 10 psi, and suddered like mad when crusing at 2200 rpms in fourth or fifth...backfired like mad on downshift. Was NOT fast at all.

What a waste of time...I think all are either overpriced or beat to hell...I am about to give up and get a mini or something...this is very frustrating...been trying ot buy a "good" srt-4 for almost a month, and I have only seen one for sale and I missed it.

Hmmm....Didn't think it would be this tough to find a good one with 12k cash in hand...

I agree w AWH. ...as clost to stock as possibel.Some people try to tune out or there limits and F there cars up.Or run more boost w/out supporting mods.Also try autotrader.com. Good luck.

 

I just bought me an 03 with 70,000 miles, silver, for 13k. i may have over paid a little, but when i saw the car i fell in love. 100% stock, accept the white front blinkers and the CD player. litterally the thing looks, feels and sounds brand spankin new. had it for 2 weeks now, and just go an occ put on, and takin it for tune up next week just to get checked out. my point is, there are good condition srt4s still out there, you just gotta keep lookin and keep ya head up.

 

I got raped on mine too but I spent three months trying to find one, and when I did I bought it for 20,000 with 18,000 miles on it and then my tone ring blew out after having the car for 4 months when I was burrying the needle on the freeway (170-175 ish stock) and it was not warrantied lol.......here's your sign

Bought more time. Literally...Just extended the nissan lease by 2 months on mo. to mo. basis. So.......anyone sees a pristine srt-4 for sale let me know.

Looking hard for the right one...all that I have seen are beat. Maybe I'm picky, but I figure spending 17 grand on a 4 year old car that went for 21 seems ludicris if it's anything but perfect...I am willing to if it is that good, but that req's financing and thus dealerships...on independant cars I'm stuck at 12,500cash and it is real hard to find a good one for that price...Fingers crossed. Thinking about alternatives also(350z, wrx, evo, legacy gt, something like that, or truck and bike.)if I go the "stealership" route and spend near 18k, but I really really want another srt-4 - this car has me hooked.

 

I sure got lucky. Who knows how long the carI was looking for was up for sale to the whole nation. I got it right on the spot. Just havent pick it up yet due to it being transfer to my state. 6k miles and NOT touched what so ever. The previous owner bought it straight cash no leinholder. Dream come true...Only thing that sucks is it doesnt have a sunroof or kicker system.

Whats funny, post. You've already had ths car and sold it and now you want another one. I think Im in for a treat and Ive never ever sat nor test drove one....

 

His last one was totalled in a car accident....it wasnt really a choice...
