So I pulled my tranny off and my pressure plate was broken in two, How does this happen and what can I do to make sure this doesnt happen again. So now i am in the market for a new clutch. What type/brand/stage should I get? Where can I get one for a good deal? Thanks

RE: new clutch
Wow! Can't say I've heard of that happening!

South Bend just dropped some new clutches on the market that are supposed to be the ****...

RE: new clutch
there are a lot of people complaining about their southbend clutches. i would wait for a while and see if they fixed their issues.

i always will recommend the clutchmaster s4. no real issues with it and it grabs hard but is easy to drive on the street. great clutch.

RE: new clutch
They actually did fix the issue. Was a matter of the bolts on the flexplates needing to be aligned and/or replaced because the heads of the bolts where causing interferance. It was a vibration issue, not a performance issue. They now use different bolts and the new clutches are rated even higher in the amount of tq they can handle. There are a lot of happy South Bend customers on the red forum...

I have nothing negative to say about clutchmasters either....

RE: new clutch
the clutch that I just brake was a clutch masters stage 4, 4-puck and I broke the pressure plate in two. My shop is telling me to use this clutch http://www.agpturbo.com/product.php?...272&page=1..... what do you think about this one?

RE: new clutch
run really far away from act. and comp. and a few others. the only clutches that seem to work well are the clutchmasters and the southbend.

RE: new clutch
damnitI just bought that act clutch, AGP tells me that is the only clutch they use in their cars, What is no good about those clutchs? I was skeptical about using another clutch master cuz I only had that one in since november and the clutch was really worn and the pressure plate snapped. I hope this one works well

RE: new clutch
they slip. not as bad as the comp, those are horrible.

what are they calling "their" cars? just wondering because as far as i know they only had one in-house srt, and i'm not even sure that they have it anymore.
