Howdy everybody
I'm not necessarily new....because I've had this account for quite some time but I never really used it. I used to have an 01 Dakota R/T and I became a member because I wanted to modify it, but never got around to it. Now, I own an 04 Neon SRT-4 that I like very very much. I don't know if this is the right area to post this but...if you had a completely stock SRT-4 and $3000, what would be the first couple of things you could do to increase the performance without drastically spending reliability? I kinda need this to be my daily driver.
What would I spend it on? The following (I'm not adding things up as I go so I may be overspending here LOL):- Short Throw Shifter (I like the Mopar its not too extreme)- Upgraded Rotors/Pads (MPSC Stage 1)- Lowering Springs (I have the Mopars, they give a great ride and look good...cheaply)- Stage 1 PCM- Stage 2 WGA- Upgraded Spark Plug wires (I have Mopars here as well)- Plugs: NGK 4306s do well (some will also suggest Densos)- Intake: This is your choice (I have the Perrin SRI)- Exhaust: Again, your choice (Custom made Side exit here)- Solid Mounts or Mount Inserts (AGP Solid is what I have)- Boost Controller (I prefer electronic Greddy Profec B Spec II)- Throttle Body DCR 55mm is a good option- 2.5" Charge Pipe (CTI)- Hard Pipes and BOV (optional, they don't increase performance at all really)- Walboro 255LPH fuel pumpI could keep going on and on...but I basically listed the first things I've done (with the exception of the throttle body and fuel pump which I will be buying very shortly). My car has been daily driven on all of these modifications (charge pipe excluded I'm installing next week) for 99,000 miles.
Mind you this isn't a setup for insane power, I pulled near 300fwhp on this setup untuned. Its a setup that gives you a good start all around, a basis for suspension work, motor work, etc. Without solid mounts your traction is minimal, they do assist in that respect, as does lowering the car. I gave you an all around starters list in my opinion.
Hope it helps. By the way Bad Company is a great friggin band.
