As a kid I remember riding around with my mom in my grandmother'spink 1946 Plymouth Special....we'd pull into a gas station and ask for a "dollar's worth" of gas. That was over 4 gallons, enough to hold us for almost a week!!!!!

Yeah gas under $1 was not really that long ago. Maybe 1997-98?

 

I paid .95 cents in 2001....and in 2002, I was still paying less then $1.20 for gas. It wasnt until late 2004 that gas exceeded the $1.75 mark around where I live....and then of course Katrina just made it easier to rape us at the pump...

 

Yeah in Jersey it's expensive but it's still worse in some other states.
