Snow opinions?
I use goodyear Ultragrip P195/65R15 with ice studs on 15 inch steel wheels. This tire and wheel setup is exactly the same overall diameter as the stock setup with 205/50ZR17. See the attached diagram and picture. The picture doesn't show much of the tire, but if you like, I can take another one now that I have the snow cleaned up. If you would like to see, let me know.
Performance snow tires wouldn't be very good around here. We get lots of snow, slush, and ice. I know this looks ugly, but it's impossible to get a good winter tire in 17 inch diameter. "performance" snow tires just don't cut it in really bad weather.
I hope this is helpfull.

I have found the tires your looking for, they are a mix of performance and snow, the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25. They come in the right sizes and speed ratings for 130-149 MPH. I think this is what I'm going to be getting for mine for the winters. Here is a link to them and more info on them: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
Well, I have finally stopped vascillating and picked a tire.
I decided, after our 14" snowfall this weekend, that I can sacrifice a little cornering ability in the winter and put snows on the stock rims in the stock size.
I got V speed rated Blizzak LM-25's after hearing good things and reading good reviews of the tire.
They are going on this afternoon (would've loved to have them a few days ago but that's the breaks). I will definitely post a review(I'm sure you'll be interested to hear how they work, 71RR).
Thanks for all of your opinions.

30 inches - AAAARRRGGGHHHHH...[:'(] - sorry to hear that
Got them at Tires Plus who got 'em through Tire Rack. Same cost (much to the behest of the Tires Plus manager)149.99 plus what they would've charged to ship(12 per tire).
I have 1 day of driving through the leftovers from Saturday's storm and I am very happy. The grip on good surfaces is much better than I would expect from a snow tire. Noise levels are better than the stock kdw's. Through snow the tires make a huge difference.
I was happily surprised to see that they have a very aggressive sidewall (stiff with lots of rim protection).
More reviewing to follow once I get some time on these - but at first drive (80 miles total) I would definitely say that I am happy with my purchase.
