PULLING CODE P1188??? HOW DO I FIX IT??
My check engine light went off and i thought it was a PCV but it pulled a code P1188..i dont really know my way around these engines too well yet. How can i fix this because i was supposed to get a sticker by today..any help would be very appreciated as i need this car for work. If i need to replace parts how much do i have to spend if any..i have a cold air intake, downpipe, cat, borla, and stage 2 kit however only the wastegate is on the car right now so i can get a sticker. Is this something thatcame with the stage 2 kit that i can swap out????

1188 isnt a over boost code it TIP sensor performance, TIP (throttle inlet pressure), when you install the rest of your s2 kit you will be repplacing this sensor, its located on the driverside insdie fender, you white tube from your solinoid goes to it. Just disconnect your neg. battery cable for about 20 seconds and it will reset the ecu.

You can try that, and after driving it 50-100 miles the CEL stays off, then it should pass. Don't try to just reset it right before going to inspection. If the car hasn't been driven 50-100 miles, you will fail for "not ready" status. At least that's the way it is in NJ. I agree, try lowering the boost. Maybe put the stock WG back on if need be.

Yeah if you don't have the TIP sensor hooked up, hook it up. Better yet throw the stock TIP sensor back in just for inspection. Make it as stock as possible.
I don't know how you went about pulling up the code but you can also check it by turning the key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON and it will display the code(s) on the odometer, and display "dOnE" when finished. If it just says "done" then there are no codes being thrown and it is ready to inspect. I forget exactly what happens if it is not ready, but I think it will just display dashes across the screen. I will check on that and let you know. If it is "not ready" it will not pass inspection.
