Default Drag Radials

So, I went to the local 1/8 mile dragstrip....I cant get any traction at all...I fought really hard to get a 8.75 and my cousin drove it and got a 8.73...I know I can easily drop quite a bit off that just by getting some slicks....I want to be able to shoot out of the hole, (not be very easy and hope not to spin lol)

But my problem is Ive never bought and drag slicks for any of my cars before...and therefore I have no idea for what to even look for...so can you guys shed some light on my situation and tell me what performs well...thanks in advance..

M & H has good tires and great service. Here are some good drag radials. If you get those with some PT steelies, they'll hook up nice. I spoke with John at M & H and he said not to get too light of rims with these drag radials. That's why he recommended the steelies.

wait i'm confused...you want dr's or slicks? what are you running now? a 8.7 is a respectable time considering that all you have is a wga and mbc.

yeah there were two other srt-4s there that nite....my car was faster than both of them...one was a stage 2 with toys...
me and my friends have noticed that my car seems to be one of those special cars that just runs really good...like...(runs better than other srt's with the same parts)

anyway...back to the subject...

thats exactly how lost i am on the matter....i thought drag radials and slicks were the same thing...how are they diff? is one necessarily better than the other???

lblackneon??? will those keep me from spinning?? I dont want to spin at all.....I want to be able to launch out of there and just grip and go....do you think they can do that?? i want to be able to launch really nice...maybe from 4,000 rpm or more without spinning and wheel hopping...

so any help and all suggestions considered i have no experience with drag radials or slicks...and very lil experience at the strip...just enuff to know how the tree works and that i need more traction lol

Yes they are different.
Drag radials can be driven on the street. They're like a racing street tires.
Drag Slicks are for track only. If you want the least spinning and best grip then you need slicks.
Here are some slicks:

My previous post had a link to some drag radials.

The track rat named PSI Chick has a lot of experience with slicks.

If you get slicks, u also have to make sure you get the right size. If they are too large then you'll be kicking yourself in the end. It will decrease your track times.

yes slicks and drag radials are two very different things. i've used both, and i will definetly suggest you not wasting your time with dr's. just grab a set of slicks and let her rip!

1. yes, but i would highly suggest getting a good 7" rim instead.

2. a 24" slick. i'm running a m&h 24.5x8.5x15 slick and have had very good results. m/t also makes a 24x8 that is very good. either one of those will work well for you......ps - s3 w/400hp?

3. yes you do. just pull the ebrake rev it to 5k and dump it.
