Air/Fuel ratios and power shifting
I noticed when I power shifted today (I dnt do often at all)...that my ratio dropped to like 10.4 then slowly rose then backfired or cut out real bad....
So on my AEM air/fuel gauge....goes from 11 to 16 as we all know...is the 10's too rich or too lean??? I would imagine too rich but I dont know thats why im asking...and If 10's are rich then 16's are lean...or is it the opposite??
so I had to lower my boost a little for wot shifting....
anyways my question is on the air/fuels im sure somebody can clear that up for me quick....Im thinking about checking and lowering my gap on my spark plugs again...

RE: Air/Fuel ratios and power shifting
kool thats the way i understood it so thats good....so i see no matter what boost im running i want that to be around 11.5 at wot.....so if its around the 10's i need a lil more air?? lol or less fuel...hmm???
so why does upping the boost make mine run richer instead of leaner??? at least i think thats what it does...
i can be pulling hard at wot in fourth gear and my air/fuels will normally read 12's and 13's i think....i watch it as im flying down the highway and it doesnt go way lean or way rich....but then it backfires or cuts out....(seems to me like it cuts out if i run a high amount of boost for a long duration of time such as fourth gear...) if i run the higher boost through the low gears it wont backfire/cutout unless if i powershift....but everytime it does cutout it shocks me because the air/fuels dont look horrible...and i lower the boost so it doesnt happen again...
so i guess i wanna be in the 11.5 range all the time and not 12's or 13's?? im gonna lower the gap on my spark plugs...
