What Gauges Should I get?
I have just purchased the EGT AutoMeter Pro-Comp Ulta-Lite gauge, to match the stock boost gauge, what other gauges are practical for the SRT?.....some gauges have more purpose for certain cars, so my question is...if u were to get 1 or 2 gauges more, besides EGT and BOOST, what would you get?
Fuel pressure...nobody ever worries about Fuel pressure, and its as important as oil pressure and water temp on a turbo engine. There is a schrader valve on the end of the stock srt-4 fuel rail, and most aftermarket pieces come with it also, it makes hooking up an electrical sending unit a breeze...never ever run a mechnical gauge inside the cockpit, thats asking for it. Why you ask is fuel pressure so important? It can give you the first sighns something is up with your fuel system, clogged fuel filter..leaking or partly stuck open injector(reads low)...injector not working or other problems(reads high). And of course you have to no were to look when there are problems, cause it might be something else....These are the gauges i would run on a stock srt-4 and i do not no why mopar didn't use them...oil pressure, fuel pressure, egt gauge and probe.
I have a triple gauge pod pillar and I got the AutoMeter Pro Comp Ultra Lite EGT gauge, electric oil pressure gauge and volt gauge. I previously had the oil pressure and volt gauges installed in my R/T that I sold and the volt gauge made me aware of a weak battery before it left me stranded somewhere. Any and all gauges are very important, but I wouldn't bother replacing the ones the car already has unless you have all the other important ones.
I have a Cyberdyne digital plug in volt meter gauge, it simply plugs into the lighter socket.
