Default Noise from Turbo area

Alright before everyone thinks "Here we go again!!", I've searched the forum and I can't find anyone mentioning a noise like the one I'm getting. Around Monday(maybe Tuesday?) last week I noticed a high pitched whining noise coming from under the hood. When I accelerate it goes away, but at constant speed, deceleration and idle it is loud enough that I could hear it over the stereo in the car with the windows up. When I got to work I open the hood to see if I could notice a line that had popped off or not. I couldn't notice anything, but I figured I would check better after I got home. On the way home it wasn't making any noise until the car warmed up and then it started all over agin. I'm thinking to myself that it should just be a line, probably a vacum, but after a close inspection at home I couldn't find anything. The next day, same thing. After heating up the noise was back. After that it stopped all together. This morning I'm going to work and guess what? It's back!! Only now it's A LOT louder and it starts as soon as I turn on the engine. I had pretty much everything torn off to check as many of the lines as possible tonight, but they all seem fine. Other than the noise the car seems to run fine. When it wasn't making any noise I floored it and the boost seemed normal. Does anyone know what this could be? I have S2 wo toys, K&N SRI, Mopar blue plate, Needswings DP w/E-cutout(I haven't got around to installing the cut-out yet), and a few other minor upgrades. I've had S2 for over 2 years and the K&N for over a year, so I know how the flutter and turbo whine sounds. This is definately not either of them. If it helps I could start the car and record what the it sounds like. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I have under 29,000 kms on my 05.

I wonder if your turbo is going bad. The rod that connects the two turbine wheels could have warped from not letting the turbo wind down before shutting the car off, and it kept spinning with little or no oil to lubricrate it

That is possible, but I do try to let it idle for a minute before I shut it off. I was going to post a video but my camcorder battery is dead so I'll post one tomorrow. I'm going to(reluctantely) phone the stealership tomorrow and see if they can do a diagnostic and try to find the problem. I'm basically parking it until I get this figured out, so it van driving time for me. Yippee.....

So I relented and phoned the stealership up and made an appointment for my car. Long story short, the intake mainfold gasket needs replacing. My car just went off warranty at the end of May and the cost is $400 to replace it. I asked the service manager about an after warranty requisition and he basically blew me off saying I'll have to contact Chrysler to sort it out with them, blah, blah. He then tells me that I have to let him know soon(within 5-10 minutes) if I want it fixed because the guy who will be doing the work will be LEAVING TO GO TO SCHOOL FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS!! I remember being an apprentice and I sure as hell don't want one working on my car, no offense to him or anyone else. I politely told him to forget about it and to just bill me for the time spent. I know someone who used to be a mechanic for a local Dodge shop and he's willing to do the work for between $100 - 200(he can't quite remember how the intake is set up with the turbo). The part is $5.40, so that's looking a hell of a lot better than $400. I'm going to see how hard it will be to do myself, so I was wondering if anyone here has done this and had any advice to the process. Thanks in advance.

I figured it wouldn't be that hard, and after looking at the service manual I'm pretty sure I can do it. My mechanic buddy said about 1 - 1 1/2 hours so I fugre that I could do it in about twice that. When the service guy told me the problem I thought about $200, but double that is crazy. That's like 4 hours labor. I'm sure I could easily do it in under that myself. Thanks for the help everyone.
