wires are wires on our cars, they're 4" long. get the cheapest ones you can find. you should be changing them before they ever become a problem anyway.

writeup comparison of some different wires
Granatelli wires performed best in their tests, and they not even the most expensive.

Not really true IMO. Lower resistance is better. The Granatellis are the closest of any wireset to zero ohms resistance. Plus they are very resistant to the heat. Cheap wires are, well, cheap for a reason and more succeptible to fatigue from the heat. They will work fine when you first put them in but you will replace them more often.

The combination of Granatellis plus NGK Iridium IXs (colder heat range) has worked well for me. The Granatellis used to cost around $90 per set (on MP) but the price has dropped to around $45 now. I reccommend getting them unless money is really tight, then get the cheap ones.

resistance is an issue if your wires are 12" long like on old school muscle cars. we have literally 4" wires. they're not long enough to really make a difference in terms of what wires you use, resistance levels or anything else. there is NO performance difference in our cars between any of the wires out there. it honestly doesn't matter. and wires should be replaced every year or so anyway along with spark plugs so they should never get worn to the point where you do notice the difference.

if you're going to be lazy and cheap and only replace the wires once every like 3 years then getting a better wire is worth it. but at that point you'll be having other issues so it doesn't really matter. i think that's where a lot of the "these wires are the best!!!" stuff comes from. people haven't changed their wires in way too long, and then they do and suddenly the car runs a ton better, so they say it's the wires. if they had just done the proper preventative maintenece they never would have had the issue in the first place.

Again, since you must debate me on this, lower resistance is still better, it's just less of a difference in a shorter wire. Sure, it is not a huge noticeable difference vs. a brand new less expensivewire, the same as some people will swear by NGK plugs and others will say "a plug is a plug". But the little things do add up. And part of what you pay for is heat resistance and longevity.

I've used cheap Borg Warner wires from pep boys and I've used Granatellis, and the Granatellis have that "new, freshly tuned up" feel longer. And I'm not talking 2-3 years, I'm talking 3-6 mos and I noticed the car would feel sluggish with the cheap wires. I'm neither "cheap" nor "lazy", I change my wires and plugs once a year. I used to do it 2-3 times but with the Granatellis and NGKs I don't have to.

So, what wires are best for a car that sits, seeing that mine hasn't seen the light of day in about a year! I really need to go and pull the car out of storage, this is just sad, she's just been sittin' there. Sorry about this post, just kinda frustrated at myself for letting things get away from me, just been to busy working on other cars, ect.

MSD...just i would not recommend going with the MSD Coil they have been known especially on the SRT's to over heat and break...just FYI

why do you take everything that i say as "debating" or "arguing" with you? simply because i have a different opinion? sorry that i don't agree with you, but that's the beauty of the world, i can disagree with you and it's perfectly ok. you are not the end-all of information, neither is anyone else. your opinion is just that, you're OPINION, just as mine is. so please stop reading so far into everything i say just because i disagree with your opinion on some things.

Why? Because you made remarks about my "opinions" on 4 different threads in the same day. You ripped on my subs in one thread as if what you have is 10x better. Also you were wrong about NJ being the only state with full serve gas. And you flamed my comment about bleeding the turbo when I said right there in my post that it's not the real "right" way to gain boost. That's fine if you disagree. I don't have a problem with that. But instead of disagreeing with my opinion (or other people's) on some things maybe you should stick to just giving YOUR opinion in response to the thread. As you said, No one is the end all for information. Also, you cant learn anything if you know everything.
