Push the clutch in!!! The cables are well hidden behind the throttle body. Check for interference/routing issues. Take the cables off of the throttle body and see if the throttle plate is binding. I assume you checked the floor mat, correct???

Whoa, Paul, throttle back (hehe, I used Throttle) Anyway, that's Hemidakota, who, amazingly enough, has the envious position of actually perusing auto news as his day job. Not sure who he works for, but evidently, what he does is produce a daily synopsis of auto industry news. For the non-SRTfroums memebers, here's the line that is under discussion.

"Steve
2006 Dodge Charger SRT-8 440-HP but NO MANUAL TRANNY!

I can see where his sig is confusing, since most folks use that space for a listing of cars owned, which he used to do. Anyway, what that is is a protest over the fact that they intend to give this awesome muscle car with no option for a "real" manual trans. He is not a fan of Autostik. Me, I have'nt tried an a car equipped with it yet, but I do plan to, since the SRT-8 Charger is on my short list.

As regards the SRT-8 Charger, it's coming, most likely in the fall. With the 6.1 liter, which has seen over 430 flywheel hp. We know its' after the Magnum and the 300C.

The dealer "lubed" it up? You aint supposed to lube that stuff!!! (throttle cables) The grease or oil could collect dirt over time, causing more sticking. Are you sure it was not the floor mat? Does it stick wide open or just a high idle?

That is funny stuff you won't leave the floor mat alone. You are right about not greasing the cables. You may never want to go back there again. They may want to fill up the halogen fluid in your head lights next.

throttle would stick inbetween shifts up and down. Its about 20 below at night so I dont do alot of hard driving. The first time it happend it was sudden after driving 65mph for about 20 min. I downshifted fine coming to a light then came to a complete stop. Green light came, first into second stayed open and so on. The second time it happend I was driving fine for about 20 min, went from fourth to third and it stayed open. quote on the invoice says "found throttle shaft sticking. lubed shaft ok now."

I have driven a 300M with the Autostick and it's kinda fun, better than a plain automatic, but no where near as good as a manual trans. That was a very nice car with a good bit of power, but there is no replacement for a manual transmission other than another manual with better gearing.
