Default Best bang for the buck?

Ihave about 700 dollars to work with, and my SRT-4 is mostly stock, what would be the best things to get to increase my HP numbers for the money I have available? Thanks for any help...as always.

I have the following items already installed:

-Gratelli wires
-New NGK plugs
-K & N Filter

You can get the Mopar CAI (intake) and the Mopar 2.5" exhaust (made by borla for the SRT-4) for roughly $700 for the combo from modernperformance.com. That would be a good starting point. It should add somewhere around 20 HP and 20 TQ.

I was thinking a Stage 1 with a Intake? What do you think?

you can probably find a used S1 and have it reflashed, save some cash. assuming your not driving an 03, the S1 is only the pcm

You can try that. It will probably run you a little more than 700 but in that range. I've heard the stage 1 works better with an upgraded exhaust but you can add the exhaust later. Or maybe skip the intake and do stage 1 and exhaust for now.

The Mopar exhaust is no louder than stock 'til you really get on it and fit and fitment is perfect. Price is reasonable and quality is good. This is a 2.5" exhaust. Some people prefer 3". Some of those are really loud and expensive.

Thanks for the help AWH, if I did a intake and exhaust, would the computer freak out or not, I hear that it would throw a code?

I used both the Mopar Intake and Exhaust and it hasn't thrown codes. If they are aftermarket I'm not sure what will happen, though I've heard the Mopar intake is the same as the AEM.
