Default RE: oops

thanks for the input byebye but i think they will only give me probably somewhere from $5000 to $9000. I dont know if there is anyway for them to give me what i owe on the car but that would be nice if they did. Jus that these damn neons drop like $3000 after u drive off the lot i hate that. Thats with most cars i guess. My appointment is already set for saturday morning and I will go from there wish me luck. Later[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

3k to 9k? Ouch. It is a newer car. Hmmm I'd hate to say it but if they don't give you what you owe or even a grand under...don't do it. The payment can put you in a tight spot. The dealer is going to ask for money down or tell you to pay your car down more and then come back. It sucks to here that but it's true. Check this out. Let's say you have 3k to put down on an 05 srt. Your looking at about 20k out the door. payments at 60 months somwhere around 400 a mo. Now you trade in your car for say 9k and you owe say 15k and you put down that same 3k. So now for a used 04 srt you will pay 17k+/- for a used srt with 15k miles(not bad at all) and your payments will be close to what you pay now. So that's on the high side. On the low you can almost expect to pay the same for a new srt.

There's always this option-(no flaming!) Take what you have in savings and when it gets close to ending your loan close it out early if there is a good amount of positive equity. Buy an evo IX for sticker and trade in your SXT with positive equity and a decent down payment. You won't regret that trust me. You won't regret buying an srt either but trust me with your situation it will make you sick. Hell I'm getting sick just thinking about your situation because I have been through that several times. I'm gonna puke now. Goodluck!

oh sorry forgot to add that my 2003 has 52xxx on it. Since i bought it used from Drivetime "if any of you know how they do business" its a 3 year contract which results in payments every 2 weeks. I'll just go see what they will give me for the sxt but yea i'm thinking that i need to pay some more of it down or pay alot of it down with my savings. Only problem is that my savings is for emergencies with family/girlfriend/myself so maybe I'll stick it out with the sxt for a year or so then upgrade to a srt4 later on. Just get my test drive saturday heh.

It's no rush. I hardly ever put anything down anyway because all your doing is just paying your car down so they don't have to. They save money and you don't have money towards the principle of the new car which means more money for them!(bastards!)! I had a 98 neon and paid it off. I had about 3 grand in pos. equity and wanted to trade it in. I didn't owe anything so 1-I had a car that I owned and 2-It had pos equity so if I wanted to trade it in or sell it I could get money in my pocket for the next car. Definately get it paid down. Savings shouldn't be drained because the dealer wants to make money. F that ish. Take food out of their kids mouth. It's your money! Of course take the test drive(you'll crap your pants and want to sell your left nut to get the car!)

yea thats the plan im going to stick it out with the sxt for now. I'll put some money aside from now until about 8-12 months give my girl my neon when i want to get the srt. Then buy myself a used 2005 srt4. That will make me happy and won't take away from my savings for me and my upcoming wedding." That i just recently decided to do".[sm=love.gif]

Go for it, trust me you'll never look back. Once you drive it you won't care how much more it costs. I sold my '99 Neon R/T that had quite a few things done to it so that I could get an SRT-4, I waited a year though before I did it, I wanted/needed the LSD, Stage 1 injectors and the sunroof that the '04's have. Act now because the '05's only have half the warranty of the '04's ('05- 3/36K vs. '04- 7/70K).

well the test drive went great[sm=jawdrop.gif]. Good enough that I'm going back next weekend and swipping it up[sm=lildevil.gif]. After next week watch out cause you just might get owned by another srt4 in Sa-Town/TX. [sm=vader.gif]
