While I was driving to work this morning, I noticed that the speedo was going crazy between 75 and 80 mph. Is this normal?

 

My speedometer does the same thing, around 70-75. It does a little bounce between 70 and 74. It kinda bounces off 70. I am not sure, I was told by the dealer it is not a speedo cable, it is all computer driven. Sorry I can't answer your question. I am curious myself.

 

mine goes crazy when ever it feels like it, it seems to wait a few seconds and then it catches up to the actual speed of the car.

 

mine does it too after about 70mph. it seems that a lot of people's do. learn to live with it, the dealer can't fix it.

The 70-75 MPH fluxuation has been a well known fact that there is no cure for. Mine didn't have it at first, but it had started after awhile. It still does it, but it's very slight and almost unnoticeable now.

 

huh-i can't say that i've ever noticed that...just something to be on the lookout for

 

I have a 04 SRT-4, i had the same problem. What you need to do is have vss replaced. Short for vehicle speed sensor. That fixed my problem.

 

I have to say I notice the same thing on mine. It like flutters ever so slightly, seems like it happens when I let off the gas and am coasting. If accelerating it doesn't do it or holding my speed steady. Only when decelerating is when i see it, and mine isn't hardly noticeable, but I know what you're talking about.
