the shift knob
Alot of people have had that problem. You can get a replacement **** from Modernperformance.com which is pretty nice (about $49.99 - http://www.modernperformance.com/dcx...hiftknob.shtml ) or you can contact a guy named Gerry on srtforums.com and he can make you a custom on with whatever design on the top of the aluminum ball. Some guys have a club called SRT-4mation and they got that engraved in their ****. Looked pretty nice. I am thinking of getting one but need to come up with what I want on it. Those are some thoughts. Good luck
i kno that im just sayin i wish it wasnt like that an i wanted to kno if ne1 knows where i can get it chpopped a lil bit an get threads put on so i just have one that screws on. can you just imagin ****in too hard or pullin it an it flyin out your hand an out your window or in the face of someone in the backseat. it would be funny yes but i personally am a worry wort an i think the worst of everything
Really, BB, use this as a trainer, popping off the **** is an indicator that you are not operating it properly. Like falling off a balance beam. We don't add inches to the balance beam, we balance better

Definitely shifting wrong, you don't need to SLAM the car into gear, and even if you do, shifting back into second, you should try more to position your hand on top of the shifter with your fingers in the front and just sort of push the shifter into second. I race cars, and it is better to shift with a soft hand. Touch is everything. It sounds like you are manhandling it a little much.
Added note - the shifter from modern is a good upgrade. The significant increase in weight IMO makes the shifter feel better and fall into gear a little easier. There are other vendors who make a metal **** as well; I just have Moderns's and like it.
