SRT4 questions...
I test drove my car before I bought it back in '03. When I started it the car it had 3 miles on it. Drove it about 10miles and then went back and bought it after the test drive. Now my '03 is @ 18K miles, no real problem besides me thinking my clutch was sliping after doing some spirited driving and not letting the clutch full engage a couple of times. These cars are very solid.[8D]
i just meant to my car, and in relation to the clutch and tranny. not anyone elses. i don't race, so i don't have much chance to blow the motor. i hope. i had to relearn how to drive a clutch when i got it. but i think i did pretty good. still need some work. i saw one that was missing it's whole rearend at some shop. looked like a shark ate it.
psi chick,
Remember back when, Dodge did indeed have a course, the one where the salesguys got to drive one against competitors like the Boxter in an autocross type setup? It was supposed to be (but never was enforced, AFAIK) that only delaerships who had sent someone to the course would be allowed to sell SRT-4s.
Didn't work out that way, anymore than the "Only 5 star dealers can sell them"
As far as not letting you drive it, eff'em, go elsewhere
On a related note, some of those "trainer" cars appeared at auction in the midwest. I feel sorry for anyone that bought one, they have to be some of the most abused SRT-4s out there.
(they would have all been real early 03s, 2002 through maybe Feb 03 build dates. So if your car was made after that, then your could not have been one of these)

sure they tried, but that was over two years ago that they instituted that program, and barely anyone actually went to it. now and old dealer can sell them. it's not like a road course really gives you any training anyway......
Oh, I know it was long ago, and never did anything useful, besides cause us early buyer grief chasing dealers that were going to meet these stupid requirements that ended up not being required
I was just addressing your assertion that nobody ever attended a class on SRTs. Some salesguys did, and this salesidget might have convinced his dealership that this was the deal. Who knows, the only real point is that the poster should shop someplace with smarter folks
