no. the stock stuff can take a lot of HP. I havent heard of many changing out internal parts, only adding injectors, bigger turbo, WGA, boost controller(fastest way to get a few extra horses), CAI, exhuast and the other things that the videogames have on them. weeeeeeeeee GO NFSU:2!!

the SRT-4 is the best bang for your buck when it comes to a new car. Just make sure the first things you get are a turbo timer and an Oil Catch Can.

a can that catches oil that tries to go where you dont want it to go. You can use it as an oil separator for your PCV or Crank case breathers..... If you have aPCV that is plumbed between your "crankcase" and your intake manifold, you will sometimes get oil into the intake, that can cause smoking and get everything dirty inside. So you plumb an oil separator in between. 2catch cans is good if adding an aftermarket intake. " The Weapon R oil Catch can catches the oil and moisture in the blow-by gas that causes carbon and sludge build-up in the SRT-4 intake system and the engine. It keeps the engine clean even under hard driving conditions. It is also an excellent engine dress up item that gives a racecar look. With a turbo car, there is more blow by oil which over time will "gunk" your intake with oil and residue. " turboneonstore.com

only trouble is my check engine light, i'm thinking it's because of a 60,000 mi mark and is in need of a tune up.

Does the check engine go on when you need a regular service? I know a lot of cars do that.

no it doesn't. if the check engine light is on something is wrong. pull the code and report it, we can help troubleshoot.
