Stage 1 Almost Here
I got the call from Modern Performance friday saying that they received my Stage 1 that day and were sending it out to me, so I should have it by the end of the week. Hopefully it will get here by wednesday, the weather should be OK and I'm not very good at waiting.[sm=happy046.gif]
Awesome, RR. Glad to hear it. You will love it. You are in trouble, though. Once you get S1 the mod bug will take over your soul. This car causes such addictions, and you have purchased your first serious fix.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
woohoo happy days are here again i'm happy for you rr let me know how it runs ,by the way i should be getting my sway bars in this week so i am looking forward to recieving some performance parts as well.
It really does make a difference. When I went out to go to work yesteday and opened the door, the box was right there in front of it. I installed it while I was at work. The directions make it sound pretty straight forward and easy[sm=bs.gif], it was a ***** to get out and bolting the bracket to the new PCM was draining, those high thread count self tapping bolts suck, I never thought I would get them all the way in with how slowly they go in. Putting it all in wasn't fun either until I figured out how to get it in, then it wasn't too bad. Getting the two bottom bracket bolts back in was all kinds of fun with that wiring harness in the way. After it was in and done I checked to odometer, I thought they had to program the mileage into the PCM but I guess not, it must be stored elsewhere because it had the exact mileage on it as when I took the original out.
Now on to the good stuff. I haven't had too much fun since it rained and couldn't have any real fun in it. The added exhaust sounds when you let off the throttle or down shift is nice. I haven't noticed any difference in the BOV like they say. I did however get to enjoy the very noticeable quicker boost schedule, it came on quite a bit at very little acceleration, what use to be just enough to get 3-4 psi boost was now twice that at around 7-8 psi.
Today is more of the same with nothing but rain, so my real fun will have to be put on hold even longer[:@]. I noticed that the Stage 1 badge is straight and the trunk lid isn't, I just hope the adhesive is good enough to overcome the difference. I have to wait to put it on anyway thanks to all this rain, I'm just glad I got it put in before the rain got here. I'll report back with my real fun if and when it drys up around here.

damm the weather it ruins all your fun with the added power by the way rr your preaching to the quire on the ecu install .when i was installing my stage 2 it took longer to do that than every other part under the hood to install and i thought it was going to be the easy part.

Couldn't help myself. It is the third day of spring and 40 degrees and an inch of rain so far today.

I'm really loving the quicker boost and the louder and meaner exhaust note with much more aggressive and louder snap, crackle and pop when you let off the gas. I was going around my old neighborhood accelerating just a little and letting off to here these lovely sounds, when I came around the other part of the neighborhood I ran into someone I knew and stopped to talk to him for a bit and he was saying that he heard me going down the other street and was wondering what it was, this was on the other side of the block on a parrallel street and I was in second gear only going from around 15-25 MPH. This is a great mod for the price, but I still would have prefered to have gotten Stage 2 w/toys. Here are a couple pics from my cell phone of my pretty new badge:
