Default Stage 2, or wait for stage 3??

I just bought my SRT-4 a week ago and have been absolutely blown away by the power of this "little car". I bought it to replace my '04 F-150 as my travelling vehicle (30 mpg as opposed to 15) and had no intention of having a Mustang killing "Neon".
Anyhoo, due to the way it was bought, I have a little money left over and am considering getting either a stage 2 kit or wheels and tires. I know that may sound stupid, but I am going to get a boost control, a cat back system, and a BOV free from a company for whom I work. Would those mods do what the Stage 2 would do for me, or should I forgo the wheels and get the Stage 2? Is the Stage 2 a huge difference?
Thank you for your help, and I am glad to be a part of the SRT-4 community.

No, they won't do for you what stage 2 will. A boost controller and catback will get you some power increase, but stage 2 will get you a power increase without sacrificing drivability or reliability. Definitely a better option, even though you have to pay for it. I would pair the catback with stage 2, and pass on the boost controller. The BOV is up to you. It will make more noise then stock, but not gain you anything. The factory surge valve is pretty much the best you'll get, since it's controlled by the computer, but putting a different one on won't hurt you.

stage 2 is definitely the way to go. A friend of mine has the stage 2 in his SRT-4 and I can definitely tell the difference right away...if you're getting the BOV free, then don't even waste time considering if you should-the answer is an emphatic YES! The cheapest BOV you can get is the Mopar one, and that will still run you $70 and some go as high as $350 once you get the BOV and the adapter, and since you're also getting the catback exhaust for free too (if I'm reading it right), you'll have great sound, and the stage 2 will give you great power, too!

Stage 2 is the way to go. It won't do anything for the looks of your car, but the only thing people are going to see is your rear end anyway.......

Thank you, I think I am going to order the stage 2 kit tomorrow, and see if me and my buddies can put it on next weekend. I have a friend that is a mechanic and I think with his help, my buying their beer, and my willingness to make them slave through the night, I will have a smokin SRT. If I can swing it, I am going to go ahead and get the AEM cold air intake as well, since according to Modern Performances website, they make the most horsepower. I will be sure to let you know how the install goes, and what difference stage 2 makes with the AEM piece. Also, subwoofers make a car faster. right????

Stage 2 w/toys is the way to go, I had originally planned for it, but other things came up and the money went out, so I had to settle for Stage 1 for now.

yes it took 2 months for mine to come in and i had to pull an all nighter with some friends as well to get it installed but it makes a big differance in boost response spinning the tires is now easily done by the way i recomend getting some motor mount inserts because wheel hop will become a problem with the added power. just my 2 cents.

Come on now, spinning the tires has always been far too easy, your Stage 2 just made it impossible to stop the tire spinning.[sm=exactly.gif]
