What is it with teenagers and their trucks?
Not to sound descriminatory or anything, but I am dumbfounded as to why every teenage guy in their shortbox pickup think they're the fastest thing on the road. My hometown is full of people like this! For example, tonight I was driving two of my friends and pulled up next to a newer 3/4 ton Cummins at a light. Inside were two cocky, young lads (obviously it was Daddy's truck) that were killing themselves laughing at my "lowly Neon with a body kit". I, being the reserved type that I am, had nothing to prove to them- initially.
However, after "Mr. Cummins" flogged the living daylights out of Dad's truck to get it to the next set of lights, I just couldn't live with the idea of this young fellow spreading a rumor all over the city about how he took out an SRT-4 (if he even knows what one is) with his Dad's diesel. Once I had caught up at the next set of lights, I looked over at them with a raised eyebrow as they chuckled at me. They laughed even harder after I revved the engine a few times (surprising since my Borla exhaust hardly sounds "ricey"). Needless to say, I was downright insulted by their arrogant nature.
4000 RPM was what the tachometer read just before the light turned green and I dumped the clutch. I ran full bore through the gears until I cleared the next set of lights- Mr. Cummins had just barely cleared the 1st intersection at this point. My friend in the backseat, who had been observing the miscreants in the truck carefully, described a look of sheer awe and bewilderment from them as we briskly pulled away from them. Needless to say, it felt VERY good to have made such a laughing stock of them after they had judged my little Neon so harshly.
Nonetheless, I suppose I can't blame them for trying to pick on my car. My SRT-4 is the only one in the city to my knowledge, and I doubt that many know of their capabilities. Regardless though, I am quite irritated by the ever-growing population of young guys in pickup trucks who think they've got one up on Richard Petty. Does anyone else see this as a problem, or am I alone on this one? LoL

4k clucth dump on a srt? ouch you dont need to go over 2 and just slip it. im sure you where spining like crazy. unless you got some cheater slicks. whacth out on thos desiels tho my dads ford 7.3 hits mid 14's with just a power programer.
I have the same problems here, in fact, one of my first runs with the car was some a55clown in his overly loud pickup thinking he's king of the streets with his full size older Chevy. After he kept revving at me at a red light in an area where the street is in good condition and safe to run, I taught him a quick lesson. I wish the tards in the Eclipse were trying to mess with me in that same area, I would have burned them badly, but they had to be doing it in a crappy section with messed up roads and areas where the law likes to hide. I did burn them a little at one point when the road was OK and unwatched, but I would love to have really taught them a lesson properly.
They all suffer from an inferiority complex brought about by being rejected by girls and not being smart enough to take a bath/shower every day. They obviously think a P/U will make them look "cool". Evidently they can't read very well or they would have read the reports on the SRT-4's performance and not even tried to run with you......they are doomed to a life of flipping burgers at McDonalds......
Yeah theres alot of that here too. Only the young kids have Fords, and the older guys have Dodges. I must admit, my brother is one of the little punks with a Ram 1500. Its raised, modded out and such....but still he gases it everywhere he can. Kind of annoying really. So I know EXACTLY what your talking about.
My car isn't usually laughed at, more a look of surprise when they find out a chick's driving it. And "That your guy's ride?" Hmmm no? Mine! MINE MINE!
Theres alot of hondas with fart cans here too....but thats okay. I'd rather not put anyone in their place on the street. Let them laugh, and flog their parent's vehicles. People who can't respect anything don't even deserve to realize that fact. Just laugh silently inside, cause your one step ahead of them if not more, and they have no idea.

I couldn't agree more. Unfortuneately, the majority of those guys around here drive Rams. I think they've seen too many "That thing got a Hemi in it?" commercials and they think they have the fastest vehicle on the road. I have also noticed alot of guys in teh new F-150's do the same thing. It gets very annoying after a while. I guess there is a reason 18 - 34 year old pick-up drivers pay high insirance rates, because alot of them drive like a55holes. I don't even race them anymore, it's a waste of time and gas. We don't see too many regular cab's around here, most people get the QC 4x4 short box Hemi's. There must be about 20 of them just in my sub-division. Funny thing is, none of these guys use them for work, they bought them for the "intimidation" factor.
