I got a question...a friend of mine knows some1 who just got the sti... i wana know be4 i start sayin anything would i beat him or not with the mods i got....04' mopar bov, stage 2 w/ toys, short ram intake, sts, and 3inch turbo back exhaust...? think i could take a stock sti with those...? im jst afarid of the awd, thats the only reason.... i really cant wait to bring it to the track and see what i can run, what do you guys think it would do 1/4 mile and aganist the sti??

As long as you can launch it properly with those mods you'll kill a stock STi, but if you screw it up a little it will be close either way, it depends on how badly you screw it up. If your running more than just a 1/4 mile your chances and far better even if you screw up badly. It all depends on you and/or the distance your running.

 

you would be better off a roll than from a light, a downshift would make it closer, but unless he is a real bad driver, he should still take you

 

First of all how many of you have actually seen this scenario played out or even done it themselves. Secondly when you talk about price tag you are paying a neon price for a neon there is no shame in that but If someone wants to have a nicer, better handleing car then they have to pay for it. I personally have seen both the srt-4 (bov and shortshifter) and the 03 wrx (turbo back exhaust) race they are even cars from a roll with the wrx getting a jump and the srt-4 pulling even eventually. The fact is from a stop the srt-4 which is front wheel drive will not beat a wrx which is all wheel drive. as for the sti keep dreaming you guys are ridiculous next thing you know it will be beating evos and running with mustang cobra. Bottom line you pay for what you get.

 

actually i have saw that scenerio played out quite a few times....my buddy (who just totaled out his car recently) smoked an STI slightly modified and an EVO slightly modified... and when his car was stock he kept up with an STi only losing to him by about 2 car lenghts maybe....dont get me wrong hes a great driver considering when his car was stock he ran a 13.6 in the quarter when the book says the pros could only get a 13.8 out of it....but still...if you are a very good driver you could take the STI.....oh and also he ran out on a few cobras as well 5.0's and 4.6's

 

I would love to know where all these screwy backwards races your seeing are, I've never seen these end results with these cars beating SRT-4's. Granted, an SRT-4 can get beaten in the 1/4 mile by a WRX if the driver of the SRT-4 isn't that good, but if the SRT-4 is driven by someone that knows what they're doing the WRX is going to get beat by more than half a second. If you put equal skilled drivers behind the wheel of both cars and both cars being stock, the WRX is dead. A good driver in a stock SRT-4 runs 13.8 to 14.0, but a good driver (which isn't needed because you would have to be a grand retard to screw up launching an AWD car) in a stock WRX runs 14.5 to 14.7. Sorry, but this is one FWD car that can, will and does beat this AWD car.[] The STi however is no contest, stock vs. stock it will win every time, which it should since it has over $10,000 more in it.
