Ok I went to the Little River track last night to see what I could do in my car. The first heat I did, well not so good. For one I didnt even know where I was suppost to start to slow down. The second run I was happy with what I ran with. It isnt the greatest for the car, but it was good to me. And if you talk to anyone that races there they will tell you how bad the start is, you peel out REAL bad. I dont have a scanner but I took a picture of the 2 runs side-by-side. And I'm not like Andy and lie about it.

not bad for the fist time . my first time i ran three times 14.8, 14.2 , and 14.0 (stock at the time). its only gets better with practice. but thats a nice time.

 

get that 60' down some and you'll be seeing 13's!!! your trap did seem a little low, are you wot shifting?

but overall, very good first outing! these cars take some getting used to in the launching department, you'll only get better with practice!!

 

i dont think 97 is slow for a mid 14s run....or are you saying that the 97 is slow for an SRT4?

 

no thats one thing I wasnt doing is WOT shifting. but it it will improve over time.

hell i saw a srt4 running a 12.2, so i know it is possible. well with 32 grand in the car it is possible.....

 

32 grand just to run 12.2? seems a little much. thats honda money.

 

well with the track being real slick i can see where he is coming from. i have heard of him running faster at other tracks. there are many people that have issues running at that track. also it was his first night running with slicks on and they were to big, so he messed one up so he had to stop runnin.

 

i lost to a guy who ran a 12.20 @125mph....do that math...i launched him hard, figuring to crush him...it looked like a plain neon RT...15" steelies and everything...until i talked to him...he worked for a company that makes aircraft turbos...and they made him a smaller version...the only thing that came from dodge was the block...and he said that 12.20 was awful for him...when he bought, he bought the RT fascia because he didnt want people to know it was an SRT4...In was shrouded..everything..so you couldnt tell..later in the night he got into the 11s...i told him about a kid there claiming to have 20g in a neon to run low 12s....and he smiled to told me, thats cute...i have Big money in this...20 is nothing...

 

i'm saying that 97 is slow for an srt. when i was stock i ran a 13.8@101, and that was with a 2.1 60'. even when i launched crappy and didn't get a good time, i never traped below 99. wot shifting will help you quite a bit....
