Default Motor Mount Insert....Clunk..?!?!?

I install my motor mount inserts I order from energey suspension. After about 2 weeks of driving with them in I started hearing a clunking noise when I would take left hand turns, then it started doing it everytime I would accelerate. I took them out and the noise stopped but I miss the stiffness the inserts gave me with the ride. Anyone know what could have been making the noise, the noise sounded like it was coming from underneath the passenger floor. I am not sure if it was from the lower mount or the upper. Please help if you have any Ideas or anyone else has excperienced this too. HELP!!!

I've heard this a couple of times re:es mount inserts.

At first I was going to say it might be the compressor turning on or off, as it has gotten warm lately and you might have started to use your ac. The compressor makes a clunk after installing mounts. But I wouldn't expect that is has been that warm up there, yet.

Did you use the zip tie things they provide with the kit? I hear they aren't so good, and people have better success getting 4 small bolts washer/lockwashers and nuts. They might have been loosening on you.

Also, did you torque the bolts on the mount to spec?(Doubt this is it but good to ask)

Another possibility is to ditch them and get the prothanes, they are one piece and work a lot better with no ties needed - they are held in by a large washer that fits right under the bolt for the insert. It's only another 20-30$ so its not that big of a deal to waste on the es's. I have the prothanes and like them a lot.

Good luck with that.

The prothanes are great. The only time they clunk is when the AC kicks in.

So if the only thing that clunks is the A/c than what is the issue, A/C is never on. Insert were tight and the clunk only happen when I turned left and everytime I accelerated in each gear???

Toss out your inserts or sell them and get the Prothane inserts, they work great without the oddities your having. You can get the Prothanes in race (red) or street (black), I highly recommend the race inserts. So far so good with mine and they've been on it for closing in on a year.

I agree the prothanes work well. However, I bought the black ones (street) and tore one apart after about 8000 miles.

I thought it might have been a broken axle but then I took them off and the clunking stoped all together, what is the difference between the prothane and the energy suspension inserts.

The es's are 2 piece. The prothanes are one piece.

Check my previous post for description - I think you missed it.

If it stopped after you removed it, it has to be the installation must of shifted or came loose. Was you left turn and acceleration had any issues afterwords? if not, then its probably what i've said
