Default i need a daily driver is the srt-4 a candidate

i currently have a 1997 honda civic which is very reliable and i have never had any problems with but i want a car with a more power i heard that wrx's are reliable but i do not want to play so much money. and there is a 2003 srt-4 at a local dealership with 65k miles on it for 8 grand. i was just wondering are these cars good for a daily driver and for an upwards of 120k miles on it or do the run into major problems. but cause i do not have the time to fix it and cant be able to have the car down for a couple of days while fixing it.

well the reliability depends mainly on how well the previous owner took care of the car. i know more than a few 100k+ srt-4s and a some 120k+ so they can last with no problems but thats where you have to be careful. alot of people, no most everyone, who bought one of these modified it somehow and that is when you start running into problems. if the one you are looking at is mostly stock and not just put back to stock then you could be alright. look for things like bundles of wires rapped together with electrical tape, any type of butt connector holding any wires together or things that just dont look right. if it doenst look stock or like something you would see on your honda then it most likely isnt stock. if you can go and see the car and take pics of the engine then maby i can help you more.

i dont know what year it really doesnt matter they are all the same except for a few options. its probly an 04 or 05 cause there are alot more of those than 03s. the car looks good from the pics very stock if your dad thinks it looks all unmolested under the hood and the dealer looks trustworthy then you are all good. be happy and drive safe

A SRT-4 taken care of as a car of it's type will require the normal upkeep as any high performance car. My SRT-4 ran flawless for almost 4 years, with several mods (see below).

The harder/faster you drive it, the more things you can expect to have to tinker with....the same as any car.
