Default Mopar Cat Delete Pipe?

Has anyone bought the Mopar performance delete pipe? If so, notice any power gains or loudness increase? They advertise an improved down pipe. Is there something wrong with the stock one? I know others on here have different downpipes so if you could also tell me about your results, (track times before and after or Dyno) I would appriciate it. Just kind of wondered if I would notice any seat of the pants difference since I already have stage 2 installed. Also I aready have the Mopar exhaust and I stick with their stuff since I get employee discount.

This is meant simply to remove the catalytic converter for racing. From what I understand the stock cat flows pretty well, so the benefit of removing it is minimal, and doing so will make the car louder. But I haven't done it personally, so I don't speak from experience.

Since when does Mopar offer those items, I've never seen or heard of them having them before now? They will both help out especially when combined. I would just go with a high flow cat for the street to stay legal instead of using the delete pipe.

It's part # p4510649.

And, personally - I would go with a 3" downpipe with an interchangeable cat/straight pipe. From my experience, and many others, Scott over at Maxxfab makes a nice one. You can have it directly connect to the borla, or taper to 2.5 inches, or 3" for other exhausts. I chose to do it tapered down to 2.5" and cut off the end of the Borla where it tapers to 2.25 inches((a big limitation) and gain 19% more flow than bolting directly) - he included a real nice 3" stretch clamp to secure them together. And yes, it made a big difference.
There are others, too. If Mopar made a 3" dp with interch. I would have considered it, but theirs is not exactly what I wanted.

a friend of mine has stage 2 in his and got the cat delete pipe from Mopar along with the Mopar/Borla exhaust...the cat delete definitely made his car louder and he can now shoot flames out of both exhausts!

I have had the cat delete for about one month, and I have noticed a change in the tone of the car, and in perfomance. I will be getting stage2 in about two weeks, so yes I would say go w/ the cat delete.

i will second posthondaremoval and suggest a 3" interchangable dp. here's some reasons why...

1. the stock dp is a dinky 2.25"
2. the stock cat is highly restrictive
3. removing the cat for street use is illegal (if you care)
4. a 3" dp will free up quite a bit of power, especially if you are upgrading.
5. the interchangable pipe allows you to keep the cat for daily use and switch out for a race pipe when you're at the track.
6. it only takes about 15 mintues to change pipes
7. you can shoot flames out the exhaust with the race pipe in
8. a full 3" dp with magnaflow high-flow cat and race pipe from maxxfab costs $335. the mopar cat delete pipe costs $370 (how does that happen????? is that correct??? mopar cat-delete owners please chime in!!!)

I first saw it in January at the Detroit Auto Show. Mopar had a big display there. You can also get it from Modern Performance. Ok, so I've got a few responses in favor of aftermarket downpipes. I really don't care for the car to be much louder but the flames would be cool. If I read between the lines, it sounds like it would help a stage2 car to perform better, but does anybody have proof like any numbers? I'm just not sure if the power gain is worth the money.

Shoot flames? That would be so cool. Does it shoot flames just by removing the cat?

yup first thing i did when i bought my car was take the cat out and put a DP in shot a flame everytime at WOT shift "POP". if you hit the rev limiter youll shoot one too..i wouldnt recomend it tho. but yea stock srt-4 can do it. the richer you run the easier it gets.
