Default oil pressure gauge question... AGAIN

I know that this has been discussed before, but i need to ask again. I cannot find the previous post, and back when I had it, I could not find the correct place that the diagram showed...

Anyway. Where do you hook up the sending unit for an oil pressure gauge. I have searched the block extensively, short of pullng the exhaust man off, I cannot find a place for it to go........ Can anyone tell me exactly where to look and if I have to take anything off to get it there.

Thanks in advance for your help......

The factory switch is on the back side of the engine block, near the bell housing.

thanks for the reply. That is what i thought that i remembered from the previous post, but do you know where??? that is what i can't figure out. I have looked under the car, and from the top using mirrors, I looked over every piece of the motor that I thought I could. Any specific area on the back would help me alot.

thank you very much for your time and thoughtfulness. I assume you just take that out and put the new unit in??? I was looking for a recessed allen head bolt... that is what the previous posts said to look for...

No problem at all my friend. By the way, nice bike. I am a Yamaha guy (2001 R6). That SV1000 is the ONLY Suzuki I would consider owning. I like the torque from that V motor. Ride safe and WEAR A HELMET!!!!!

the recessed allen head key bolt is on the side of the engine by the intake towards the back. it's pretty easy to see, however a pain to get out. it's a "special" sized allen key, so some creative tool making is required to get it out. once you do, just put in the new unit and you're done.

Thank you both for the reply... I will look for the allen bolt, it sounds a little easier to get to.

Also, Thanks RIPSIGUY for the compliment on my bike. I thought that i would really regret selling a GSXR 750 that i had bought brand new in 02 for a twin, but i have never missed it... I can corner the sv even better than i could my gixxer, and the tourqe is phenominal......... You just twist the throttle, and the front wheel comes up, which is not necisserily what i want, but it is fun to pop it up and down every now and then... And I NEVER even will drive it around the block without a helmet... The helmet is WAY prettier than I am, and it matches the bike better anyway... just kidding, but I do not ever ride anywhere without the helmet, and seldom ride (on long trips) without my joe rocket kevlar leather jacket. It is dad and I that go rideing. He had a ZX12R, and sold it to get an "old man's biike", a Bandit 1200. it is still a fun bike, but nowere even close to what he had...

PSI Chick, I went and looked at the motor, and found a pretty small square head recessed bolt. Is that what you mean by it being a weird allen bolt? is it a square headed bolt??? thanks for you reply.
