Stage 2 Turbo Has Arrived!!
I just remembered, they need that info for the computer. The computer is where the cars mileage is stored since it is digital and they need the VIN number to flash the computer with the right code for the cars keys, because of the anti-theft chip in the keys.[sm=smiley23.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]
It was late when I posted that and I was tired, but it is a valid possible point as well though.[sm=smiley2.gif]

I just called Mopar Performance direct on the stage 2. They told me to get all the info into the dealer and park the car for 6 weeks. Mileage must match exactly. My dealer has quoted 1330 for the kit with toys. I just can't bare the thought of letting the car sit in the garage for the next 6 weeks. Does anyone know for sure if the exhaust must be changed at the same time? How is everybody else doing this even with the stage 1 kit as far as getting mileage to match up. Looking forward to hearing from the rest of you.
I'm going the stage one route, at least for now and ordering the PCM from Modern Performance in Houston (just down the road). They too need the DIN and mileage. I know how far I drive each week to within 2 or 3 miles, I'll just get a confirmed shipping/ delivery estimate, do the math, and add in maybe 100-200 miles as a "safety factor"...if it comes in early or on time, I'll take a Sunday drive in the country![sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley4.gif]
don't forget to save a little mileage for the dyno before the mods! that way you can get a "real" measure of the improved performance from your modifications! I'm going to continue to exercise restraint and wait for the stage 3 kit to be released and then go for broke! anybody know what the going rate for 100+ octane is going for? that or the best octane boosting fuel additive (best bang for the buck)?
Good idea, didn't think about that. The last time I looked, "racing unleaded" was over $5 a gallon. The SRT-4 service manual does not recommend octane boosters (I've got 2 bottles of "104" I'll sell you cheap), most of them can do harm to your engine. If you wanna go hi octane, stick with the unleaded racing gas.[sm=smiley4.gif]
It doesn't hurt the motor, it hurts the emissions. If it really mattered, then they wouldn't make stage 2 available with a fuel switch that takes full advantage of 110+ octane gas. I have never found 110+ octane unleaded, however Cam2 is 110 octane leaded race fuel.[sm=smiley2.gif]
I was thinking about the stage 3 kit myself. The only thing that keeps me from doing it is my dealer and several others have told me the stage 3 kit will void the warranty, where the stage 2 kit doesn't. Price here for the 100 octane is looking to be somewhere in the area of $250 for a 55 gallon drum. My only question is where to store a 55 gallon drum of high octane fuel. I don't like the idea of keeping it in the garage under my house.

Dodge needs to come out with a clear statement about what stages do what (if anything) to what types of warranties. There is a lot of confusion, I hear a different story every day from dealers, buyers, parts people, etc.
BTW, you DO need to store your racing gas somewhere else! Your homeowner's insurance company would drop you in a second if they found out you had that in your garage! [sm=smiley4.gif][sm=smiley17.gif]

how about storing it in a rental storage place? the ones here aren't very discirminating. BTW dodgegirl19, any idea when the stage 3 is popping up it's nasty head? that way i'll know how much time i have to save for it.
