I've liked the SRT-4 ever since I saw one and now is the time to get one. Are there any particular models or years that you guys recommend. I also want to get all the options like a sunroof and powered windows. So what should I look for when I go to the dealerships? Thanks

 

They come pretty much fully loaded (A/C, power everything, CD) and they only have a few optional items. They only options are: exterior color, side air bags (this option gives you the standard Neon seats with the air bags instead of the Viper style seats), sunroof and Kicker stereo. There is also the optional ACR version that has a better suspension. You should get an '04 or '05, they have a LSD, larger fuel injectors, the sunroof option and the Kicker stereo option, all of these are not available for the '03's.

 

but 03's are faster!!!! (no, i'm not kidding. there are more factory freaks in 03 than any other year)

get a 04 if you can. longer warranty (if it matters), and the stage ecu's are interchangable with the 03's.

 

So basically all the performance upgrades for the '04 and '05 models work for the '05 models? For example, if I were to get the '05 model, I won't be stuck with less performance upgrades than the previous models?

there are the same performance mods for all years. the difference is the stage kits. the 03 and 04's are interchangable. the only difference is that s1 for an 03 comes with new injectors and the 04 doesn't. the 05s cannot use the same stage ecu's that the 03 and 04s do because they do not use a battery temp sensor and this causes different programing to be used.

 

More probably would have waited to get the '04 if they knew that they were going to come with the LSD. If it wasn't for me having two more years to pay on my R/T when the '03's came out, I probably would have gotten an '03 instead of an '04. I never thought that I would be happy to be in debt, but it paid off when it came time for me to be able to get my SRT-4.

 

no, i don't think that's true. everyone i know that has an 03 is very happy that we have 03's. and probably wouldn't have waited anyway. 03 owners are the ones who seem to have really wanted the cars and didn't care about available options
