Anyone with experience with the various intakes available please give why so answers.
Price? Ease of installation? Quality of construction? Real performance gains? If you already have one but wish you had bought another why? Driveability issues?
These are just opinions.

Personally I feel that there is no substitute for testing and development, and having a strong company to back a product. There are few companies that do more in all of those areas than AEM.

Their product is strong enough for MOPAR to purchase it and put their name on. Note that they are the same company as DC, whom mopar has also used on its performance products. The Mopar CIA and Strut tower braces are basically AEM/DC pieces.

I have used AEM and DC many times and never had the slightest problem with their equipment. If you ever want to see how a company like this SHOULD be run, take a visit to their facility, it is immense, and very professionally organized.

Also - it is one of the true "3 inch" intakes. The other one I would have considered is a 2.5".

Also note: This is just my opinion. You will get many different answers on this one.

The iceman comes with a battery relocation plate so you can have a more straight flow of air. check out my cardomain site for the picture.

i went with the JMB 3" intake. i prefered this one because it was highly customizable so that i could get it the way that i wanted it. i could decide what plugs i wanted in it, the size of the filter, the color (single or two-stage powdercoat), type of coupler, and everything else. it was exactly the way that i wanted it with all the features that i wanted. it's a true 3" intake, and fits perfectly.

i guess they changed there CAI quite a bit(AEM) the first ones hit the hood and rubbed..

Im with PostHonda on this one. I have the AEM shortie and absolutely love it. Having a CAI in Rhode Island is just BEGGING for hydrolock....as I found out with my stratus consistently getting water in the block. AEM does do extremely intenstive testing, and I can't be happier with the choice I made.

OrochiDio yes they redesigned it so it doesn't sit on top of the positive battery terminal anymore. That was the initial problem, grounding out the positive terminal and causing fires, damage, etc. Not that it hit the hood. I have a piece of rubber on the side of mine where the battery is anyhow just in case. But my friend Jonathan had the inital AEM Shortie before it was redesigned and has quite a few holes in his because of the terminal problem.

But the redesigned one rocks Gotta love AEM

My K & N Typhoon CAI is fantastic, gives great gains, looks great and sounds great, it's easily affordable and fits like a glove. Plus it can be switched to a short ram and used that way if you like and you can change it back to a full CAI anytime you want and as often as you like.

love my aem performance and sound wise.

mandrel bent pipe is all the same...my CAI is a 90 degree angle off the TB, then 2 pieces of 3" bent piping...AEM wanted 3 something..i got one on ebay for 59 bucks...with the metal MAFS adapter (the other stratus people know what i mean), gaskets, everything...i then bought a K&N cone filter, and i guarantee it flows every bit as well as the AEM for 250+ dollars less.

I didn't mention, BTW, that I have the shortie as well. Thumbs up all the way. I have always been a short ram guy, myself. Not only do you have a bit more protection from Hydrolocking the motor (which I have experience with on my last car - the "removed" honda), but you also get better throttle response, and a sound which I prefer.

I will shortly be plumbing 3" hose to the intake and making a heat shield shield so it is a cold air source converted short ram - with the best of both worlds. I think that is the best way to go, after working a number of races and working under the hoods of professionally designed racecars. The head mechanic that works on our cars, and races as well, agrees with this and I promise there are few as qualified as he.
