Default Cracks in Headlights

I just finished a two week battle with my dealer over cracks in the headlight lens of my SRT-4. After checking several internet auto forums, it seems as though cracks in the lens are a common problem. I printed out the 30-some pages of complaints and handed them to the service advisor when I took my car in.....his reply was, "Have a seat in the customer waiting area, and have some coffee and donuts."

FYI: Dealer prices for headlights are $215 each, plus $120 each for install. Don't let the dealer tell you the cracks are from rocks or someone "leaning on the car". My dealer is a 5 star dealer and they seem to give better warranty service....if you press the issue.

If you had eyelids, they would of blamed it on that.

on another headlight note, it is important to wax the plastic lenses to keep them from hazing

If you dont leave your car outside & that wont happen, the heat is causing stress fractures in the acrylic.

If you wax your lenses you should use some of that special acrylic wax on em. I use the same stuff on the windshield of my motorcycle. The wax is blue and works on metal and acrylic. Its super stuff.[8D]

Are they acrylic on polycarbonate(Lexan)? If they are Lexan, you have to be careful what chemicals you put on them.
