Strut Tower Bar Question
Got my STB from Modern Performance today. I thought it was going to be one solid (non adjustable) piece. However, there are adjusting nuts on both ends so I'm wondering do I want to set this puppy as tight as a drum at the max width possible or what?
BTW, it's a front STB...[sm=smiley23.gif]

Me too. The STB came w/o any instructions or directions, so I'm in the same boat as I was with the catch can. After I get the oil changed by the dealer on Tuesday, I'll try and put the "goodies" on...[&:]
Which one did you get? I have no idea what to do to it, just wondered how you liked it because I want one but am kinda scared of the cheap one. did you get the DC bar with two connecting pipes or the plain one with only one connector bar? What setting did you end up putting it on? and did it make alot of handling difference, or is it mainly just for show?
I borrowed a friend's digital camera and took some pix of my SRT...the resolution(?) was too high I think, my computer shows it's taking up more than 1 MB of data space per picture. I tried uploading them, but DF won't accept them because there're too big, I guess. However, if you e-mail me, I think I can send you a pix that way (may take a while to load). All my bike photos are 35 mm pix...I need to get hold of a scanner at the university I work at!
The STB was the WPx model from Modern Performance in Houston. $39.99 plus a few bucks for shipping. It's very well made and has a nice finish, they don't include any instructions though. It's really just a basic bolt on application. It has adjustable ends and I just turned the lock nuts until everything fit snuggly-tight. I recommend using some fiber washers as well.
The biggest difference I've noticed is in turning. Although the SRT-4 handles well, there was a certain amount of body roll. This STB makes it feel more like a "slot car". I considered a rear STB but a fellow SRT owner who had one advised against it, he said it was just TOO stiff and rough to drive on an everyday basis and took his off...[sm=smiley4.gif]

Send them to me, I'll resize them and compress them and then you can upload them.

I was worried that the $40 would be and look too cheap. You can't tell much from the pic they put on their web site, but I am like you, I would not have thought that it was adjustable. I looked at the $100 one on the same sight and it isn't adjustable... I am glad to know that it works and hope you got pics of it too, I want one.
I can feel the difference in the handling...if you've got a curvy, twisty road that you drive on a lot, you WILL feel the difference...it might make you want to take chances that you wouldn't normally try...
