Tell me which one Which one would be the best purchase?
VALINTINE -1 or ESCORT 8500 X-50 ?

 

I can't speak for either as I have the top of the line Cobra, which Im extremely pleased with. Most people here would probably say Escort.

id go with valentine one, is has a bogey counter, directional arrows, and does more than go "beep boop"








any info on the cobra sparky? never heard of it before

 

ive heard more people talk about the escort, so its probally more popular for a reason

 

I have the X50 and love it.

 

one reason for that (just my opinion here)... you can buy Escorts in far more places than V1's... Heck, Best Buy carries Escorts... the V1 can only purchased online if I recall...

I have considered the V1 vs. Escort debate... I think I'll go with the V1 myself, but dropping $400 on a radar detector seems like too much for me... my old Whistler hasn't failed me yet (except with laser - which all systems fail at)

 

I did some research on both a few months ago. The V-1 scored like a 97 on I think it was Car & Driver's test and the Escort scored a 85 I think. V-1 obviously came in first but Escort came in second and was the only detector to ever come in this close to a V-1. Plus, the next score was another like 14 points lower than the Escort. The V-1 is more expensive but people really like the arrows. Both models are really for constant high stakes speeders. If you're just speeding once in a while at no more than 10 over, I wouldn't waste your money. But if you speed ALL the time and at speeds of over 10 mpg over the speed limit, then you might as well spend the extra bank on the V-1. IMHO

 

i dont own one..at all..and i travel is ridiculously high speeds all the time. im just savvy.

 

I am Military AF! I can't lie, I occasionly hit speeds around 5-15 over the limit but that is because I drive a SRT-4! I Like Speed It's the cops that don't![&:]

 

Just dont speed? And with your 400 bucks buy some parts
