dr's won't break anything as long as you roll out of your burn out. it's when you stop suddenly that the axles snap....

i didn't know that- why is that?

because when doing a burn out you're putting a lot of force throught hte drive drain. when you don't roll out of the burn out and just hit the brakes, you shock the system. you're going from 5k rpms with tires spinning to nothing in one second. something is going to give when you do, and the axles are the weak link for us.

Funny you mention that, PSI. I just heard of a soldier, today, broke his axle doing the exact same thing here.

That is part of your problem. Never do a burnout on stock rubber unless it is for show. There is no point, you will actually lose traction. If anything, a quick rev to get the tires clean of debris, is all you'll need. Drive around the water pit, and spin 'em maybe once, if at all. Your launch will improve.

yeah- street radials don't benefit from a burnout.
i didn't know you could do one in an sxt. that's cool.

Burnouts with street tires just glaze them over, and take away miles of use. I have never intentionally spun my tires.

im so flustered with the track here in order to even get into the 13s you have to have drag radials if your on street tires your lucky if you get mid 14s hey dont prep the track so it feels like you on oil even when you give it partial throttle out of first gear which hooks up much better on the street so i dont go any more to the track cause i know it will just **** me off with all the mods ive done.
