Default bounced off the rev limiter

I guess the title says it all. I was a little late on the 2nd to 3rd upshift today and found the old fuel cutoff point. My question is should i try to avoid this until i have a few more miles on the odo? I know the manual says the engine is ready to fly at 500 miles i think, which is about my current mileage, but i guess i am just a bit paranoid about my new baby.

I missed 2nd to 3rd at the track and bounced off of the rev limiter. It was so loud that the guy in his RSX in the other lane thought his car was breaking.

I was paranoid for the first 1000 miles. I did an oil change at 1000 miles and then 3000 miles.

Coyoteyz13- What kind of times do you run at the track?

13.9 is my best time. I keep having traction issues. Half of the problem is probably me. I want to ge drag radials, but I am a little nervous about what that much grip can do to the car.

If you're worried about breaking something, DRs should actually help. More bite means less hop, and at your hp/tq levels I would think that wheel hop is what's most likely to cause damage.

dr's won't break anything as long as you roll out of your burn out. it's when you stop suddenly that the axles snap....

yeah, not a big deal- that's why it's there. the oil changes are a good idea on any new engine- lots of new metal parts that aren't used to working together yet- therel be shavings and the like. i did a 500, 2500, and now do 5000 intervals w/m1 synthetic. i just treat it like i would an airplane engine.
