SRT-4 Mods explained
I dont even have the SRT yet but I'm already looking into mods for it. I was wondering if some helpful people could explain a little better what all the mods do.
Wideband - I know its used to measure your A/F ratio. I kow that if you run too much boost, and the ratio is too lean you risk burning a piston or something. By knowing your AF ratio, how do you procede from there?
DSP - DiabloSports Predator tuner, plug and play or you can also tune from you computer. what else does it do?
Exhaust - 3" downpipe from the turbo to the cat back?
CAI - I've read its not really worth it as the stock one can support up to 300hp. What about a better filter?
Wastegate/boost controller/BOV - I'm new to forced induction, I think I know in concept what they do but a better explanation would help.
Motormounts - Better mounts prevent wheel hop, some how?
Fuel pump - higher fuel pressure less likely to cut out?
fuel pump rewire - ??
I've listed just about all the mods I have read about. Theres probably more. I would like to get the car around 280hp/trqe. What combination would best support this?
And yes, these question have all probably been answered before, but not all in one thread. Thanks for any input.

A/F ratio is a tool to help monitor your mixture. that knowledge can help you tune your car safely....as long as you know what a safe a/f ratio is (hint, stoich is 11.5 on a boosted car)
DSP, I do not believe you need a computer to tune as most of the other Diablos are a handheld unit that you can change settings on, but ordered from a vendor, a canned tune will normally accompany the device.
not sure what your exhaust question is but a turbo back exhaust is, yes, from your turbo back
A better filter will help on the top end but unless you have more supporting mods, a CAI will not really show much gains on a stock turbo/stock car. I have a dyno sheet stock SRT, one with stock filter vs. no filter at all....only 7whp gain on top end.
wga/bc both help regulating boost pressures. A wastegate controls pressure buildup by a psi rated spring. Boost controllers bleed off pressure before the wga.
Motor mounts just absorb engine movement but does not eliminate wheel hop completely. some of that is driver. They can provide a more solid ride though.
You dont need to be messing with your fuel pump or ghetto re-wiring on a stock car.
