Default Is it too early for Stage 1 ?

Hi,
I was wondering if there was a minimum miles on the car I should have before getting a stage one on it ? (currently at 866)

Thanks

Asi

there really isn't a minimum mileage you HAVE to wait... but you SHOULD wait until the motor is "broken in"... also, after about 1500 miles or so - the car "opens up" more. another point, depending on many turbo'd fwd cars you've driven, it might be wise to learn how to drive the car before throwing more speed parts at it best advice, wait a few more miles before dropping green...

Sup, Asi. I would wait until after the first oil change, which, btw, should be syn. oil.

Like SRT_YA said, the car is still not giving you 100% until; some say; even longer than 1500 miles. I thought it improved until 5000 miles, myself. (Then again, I am sure switching the ecu would end the break-in period, but I like to be safe, so I would wait a little longer)

You could order it, and save yourself the time in shipping (i.e. you'll have it there when you are ready).

Another thought is to do the mods that won't effect the engine as much, like short throw shifter, and sways, rear tension struts, bushings, lights...and get that end taken care of while the car is new.

i talked with some people and they said it takes about 5000 miles for the turbo to fully break in that may account for some of the power.

Not sure on local events. Been too busy with other stuff the past couple weeks. I may or may not be in watkins this weekend working on the pit crew for our BMWCCA team (Probably not (fathers day) unfortunately).

If you don't mind driving a ways - there is a heck of a race series going on - everything from bmw club cars to gt 40's to austin's to just about anything historic that you can imagine - here is a link to the race schedule.

(it's not srt-related, but IMO one of the best events of the year.).

Sorry - off-subject. But on-subject in a sense.

PM me anytime if you have direct ?'s. I check in regularly.
