Coilovers
I wanna get coilovers and i was just wondering what would be the best amount to lower it to? i dont want it looking slammed but i also dont want its *** hanging out in the air like it is now...so if anyone has some picks of their drops, it would be cool if u could post em...thnx
I wouldnt trust those ebay coilovers....just not feeling them, the name isn't anything high up. I'm going with the Mopars when I go with my drop. They say it only drops an inch, but ends up settling to around an inch and a half. They look great, and the ride is no different. You don't get any rubbing, and if your dealerships cool, theyll keep the warranty on the other items of the suspension should anything ever go wrong while you have the mopar stage 1 springs in.
Another brand that doesn't lower it too much, but will lower it enough so that it doesnt look "slammed", but looks "clean" is the Hotckis. However, these do sacrifice the ride of the vehicle, unlike the mopars. Id stick with them if your concerned about how well the car is going to ride and handle afterwards.

Now if your talking true coilovers go with the Vogtland's. We have them on the car we built for the Car and Driver Superfour Challenge, and the car handles great. The stance on the car, when adjusted to get the corner weights best, makes the car look good as well.

Part of the test that C&D are a day of riding around evaluating the cars, about 200 miles. Two years ago when we were invited to the testing we used IP coilovers, which was a mistake. Car & Driver Article from 2003 Challenge The fourth paragraph is where they talk about the struts. This time we wanted some that had good handling with road manors, so we went with the Vogtlands, while I can't talk about the results till the new magazine comes out, I can tell you this; The car handled better than the IP's with the Vogtlands, and ride quality was a 100% better. The car doesn't ride as rough as Goldline lowering springs, but is stiffer than stock. I have driven the car 2000 miles in testing and my butt says it is fine after 4 hours behind the wheel. Vogtland is a German company, and a spring manufacturer. In fact, KW buys their springs from Vogtland.

Good info, Gary. Thanks
- Looks like I might look into Vogtlands instead of the mopar's when I do it, after reading your comments. - As an ex-Porsche guy and BMW fan (Bosch..Bilstein..blah,blah) I appreciate the way the Germans "over"engineer their parts. Where can the Vogtlands be acquired?
