Stage 2 emissions
So what are all you guys with stage two or above gonna do when the day comes around?!?! and can u just swap out the stage two and somehow get back to stock?!?!
Okay, time to break things out, we have two different things under discussion.
ALL Stage kits (except those reflashed (or rev-vinned) at a dealer level will show a P0633 "SKIM key not programmed into PCM" code. This code can indeed be removed at a dealer level, but it's not quite that easy.
Since the procedure to do this is actually the procedure to program a brand new PCM, and dealers tech have been taught (incorrectly) that doing this to used PCMS will destroy them, they are naturally hestiant. And even if they are willing, they still might want to charge a ridiculous sum for what is really 3 minutes labor. So thats the one code.
Oh, and its not put in there to keep you from passing emmisions, this one is strictly due to the SKIS system and how it works.
Now, the codes Psi Chick is talking about. Those are only a factor on Toys kits. While they might have been left in there as an emissions trigger, I tend to doubt this. If they were concerned about the legality of selling kits that were not emissions legal, this would apply to all kits, not just Toys kits.
These codes are three auto trans codes that are triggered the fact that this PCM was really designed to be used with an Autostick equipped car. SRT/Mopar needed some feature of this trans the manual. Now, there is a crew on the SRTforums that is working on making a "trans simulator", we'll see if it pans out.
Me, I live in the sticks, no emissions test

my car is the test car for the trans simulator box that they are building. it's going to be done on my s2 ecu just in case it gets fried. i'm bringing it to n2mb's shop tuesday probably and he'll keep it for a few days and see if he can get it working. i'll let everyone know how it works out. for those interested, here's a link to the thread where it's being discussed.....S3 emissions
the toys codes do not show up on the key scan, only on a drb scan. every toys ecu has the codes. they are:
P0846 - Trans fluid pressure sensor/switch "b" circuit range/performance
P0871 - trans fluid pressure sensor/switch "c" circuit range/performance
P0888 - TCM Power Relay Sense Circuit
P0846 - Trans fluid pressure sensor/switch "b" circuit range/performance
P0871 - trans fluid pressure sensor/switch "c" circuit range/performance
P0888 - TCM Power Relay Sense Circuit
Gary, these codes are only seen for sure with a DRBIII, and of course, at least two states emmisions testing computers. Read the thread that psi chick posted, the details are a pain to transcibe. I'm still not sure if an Autozone/Advance auto kinda machine can see them, AFAIK, nobody has looked with one.
