Question replacing turbo....

So please excuse the ignorance....I have a 2005 Dodge Neon Srt4....my turbo finally gave out... someone told me about a repair/rebuild kit for it but im really just looking to get a universal turbo for now...i know its both oil and water cooled...but they have different measurements for inlet/outlet and also what does .48... .42..etc mean?...and also asking me for the type of downpipe?...what universal turbo is recommended knowing the sizes and type of downpipe?.... THX

I would look online for some used trubos... people swap them out quite regularly. If not, call any reputable tune/turbo shop and they can let you know what the compatible options are

Who makes the stock turbo? Warner- hitatchi? Mitsubishi? Garrett?

I'm not sure where you live a buddy of mine can build you a big wheel stock turbo for around $400, we would just need your stock turbo, what he has done is the center section is gone through and rebuilt them his guy put a bigger compressor wheel in allowing higher boost where as the stock one is good to maybe 25psi this can go to 30psi and pulls strong. Let me know.

stock is mitsubishi, if you move up to a big turbo, you need a manifold also, the stock turbo has the exhaust side cast as part of the turbo, is your just looking to do it cheaper get a used stock one, if not buy a complete kit, from agp, atp, or someone like that, buying it as a kit makes it nice having all parts, hardware, and thread locker etc thats needed
